Additional time

The allocated time is 30 seconds per sub as a minimum. 8 subs were used today in the second half so thats 4 minutes to start with.
Thats one of the things that this new rule changes as lots of teams were taking a lot longer than the 30 seconds. An example used was the liverpool v Brentford game where a sub took nearly 4 minutes after a goal because of celebrations and then player treatment. Its clearly an extreme example and arguably 3 separate time added on incidents. A stop clock stops all of that.

One thing people should remember with the new system is, this is to get more in play time, as we have the most in play time on average we should end up with on average less injury time than other teams. But hopefully more in play time than previous seasons.

We'll see at the end of the season if it is being applied fairly or not.

Given that Tierney played until they scored, and then blew the final whistle when we had a 5 on 3 advantage, about to cross the the halfway line, my money is on not.

It’s just a bit strange tbh. They know how many games they are playing as players and now they are increasing the amount of time within games.
Wouldn’t be surprised if the amount of injuries have increased this year compared to the previous.

Time wasting is part of the game and the amount of time added for either sub or goal is just not needed really. Never seen the problem with added time how they had it before and reckon it will be bad for the league tbh.

Its very hard to judge though by looking at minutes added as we should get less than other teams by virtue of having more ball in play usually anyway. The end of season measure should be looking at all teams average ball in play stats. This has been vastly different in previous seasons

Do you think it's just part of the game that City on average play 60 minutes ball in play and Newcastle play 51 minutes?
