Additional time

I said it in the rule changes post, this new rule is just pgmols new toy in manipulating games, if they were generally interested in clamping down on time wasting etc, there would be an independent time keeper who stopped the clock and restarted it when the ball was back in play, it would be open to everyone and transparent, this way they will just arbitrarily decide how much they want to add and who it benefits.

Refs watch had to be linked to the score board it’s the only way it can be transparent, no way it was 8 mins, even with all the subs and goal celebration.
I watched a Championship game at weekend and the commentary said the extra time will go on the stadium screen as a countdown . We all know which two teams don’t have screens !!

Teams wasted time in the hope they could nick a win or a draw off us with 5 minutes to go.
How will this change anything. ?
Arsenal did it yesterday.

Everything football does is opaque. Just do as rugby does, have an independent time keeper, the referee indicates when to stop and start the clock and play to 45 minutes. It's so simple.

By the end of the season we will see utd and lfc having more time added on (than the average) when they are losing. And less time when winning.

No different than now I suppose but this can now be in the order of ten or fifteen minutes awarded to certain clubs.

What is the formula! Let us know! Then we can add it up ourselves.

We now have the black hole of VAR and this time keeping shite. I expect even more scandalous decisions this season and all pro utd... and our media aren't even allowed to call it out (for fear of losing tv contracts I assume).

It all seems to be becoming a closed shop, and if the PL, the FA , did decide to cheat they could easily get away with it.
