Additional time

We’re gonna get done over with these rules we always seem to with any new rule brought in. Remember that one with any sort of holding in the penalty box was a penalty? Happened to us against stoke, never seen it implemented again after that game.
Is that the one were sterling (I think) brushed one of their players and Mike Dean blew for the penalty.

I think we got an "soft" pen that game as well. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

All the rules they bring in are still "subjective"..

Just watch the inconsistency of this time added on rule.
And the preventing the restart (kicking ball away) rule.

Some teams will be carded immediately and others will get away with it.

So you're telling me if Rasford, Salah, Odegaard for example have been booked earlier in the game for a foul. The ref will send them for an early bath for kicking the ball away in the latter stages of the game?

The inconsistency is going to leave PiGMOL with egg on their faces.

c.95% of referee’s decisions are subjective. This is why VAR is and always will be consistently inconsistent.

It‘s humanly impossible to referee two different games in the same way.

Referees are generally used as a reason/excuse for a teams’ result.

Some people need to call the referee names anyway. Being angry with officials is more important than supporting their team. It’s a reflex.

I’ve just read about 10 posts moaning about things that people think will happen. When/ if they do happen, moan away. But it seems a bit silly complaining about things that have so far only happened in your imagination.

Come on mate. We've been watching the inconsistency of refereeing in this country for years now to all know how the "new" rules will be applied.

All of our home games this season are going to end 20-25 mins later with the amount of time wasting teams do when they come here.
....the rub is that we will still win most of theses ‘extended’ games, even by a wider margin, but we become exposed to to ‘fatigue injuries’ in addition to normal impact injuries as both teams become tired and concentration/ care diminishes.

The contrary nature of this decision may become more dangerously obvious in close games where a time wasting team gets extended time and a later opportunity for a freak goal like yesterday’s double deflected own goal.

Last season City would’ve won the game 1-0 through an excellent goal that could’ve done wonders for a young player’s career.

The jeopardy of unexpected consequences.

The FA,PL,PIGMOL etc are so far out of touch with the most realistic law changes required its almost criminal.

* Captains only to speak to refs.
* All officials to be miked up & recorded.
* Ref to be available to the press 10 minutes after a game.
* A player who injures an opponent in a foul leaves the field with the injured player until he is fit to return or until a substitution is made.

.....etc etc.

This will ruin the game more than VAR. just book time wasters & use a sin bin style punishment.

Utter idiots running football

This isn't that hard to fix. Football authorities make things more complicated than they need to be (see VAR).

Introduce a maximum time allowed for set pieces to be taken. If the team goes over that, the decision is reversed. Pickford pissing about over a goal kick, too bad, City now has a corner.

Like Rugby, have the time taken off the on-field ref with the correct game time being shown in the stadium, for any stoppages such as injuries, cautions, etc. the ref asks for the clock to be stopped, then restarted once play is ready to get back underway. The players and fans know exactly how long is left.
