ade explains

the one thing i noticed that has come out of this incident,
the amount of city fans on this forum who do not like or want ade
playing for city. besides the shirt abuse the personnel abuse was bad.
lazy, money grabbing, useless etc certainly made there minds up all ready after
a dozen matches, supporters ?????????????????????

Well, I was one of the more vociferous amongst the people you speak of Dave, and if what he says is true, I owe the public appology you speak of, sorry.
however, I still find the explanation a little hard to swallow, and like every blue in the world, do not believe Baconface was desperate for a shite when he got caught driving on the hard shoulder a few years back, but the twat went to court and they believed him so maybe we're all wrong about that?
Not digressing though, an appology is offered and sorry for some of my over zealous remarks.
Fanaticism is something I suffer from with all things City, and I'll always be that way, I feel and cannot stop being as passionate and defensive for the best club in all the world!

Well said Lord.
You seen something that angered you and you shot from the lip (or in this case keyboard), but in the calm light of day when what annoyed you was explained, you were man enough to apologise.

A lesson for MOST of us to learn from.
(& tonight you have shown to me that you are not what i thought of you last night)

The hysteria on this site is quite laughable.

Everyone coming on here spouting their moral high ground is pathetic.

Calling other City fans for having an opinion, demanding that they make apologies. FFS get over yourselves!

My personal opinion is that he should not have worn that shirt regardless of the situation. He is paid a good salary by his employers and part of his role should be to represent the best interests of the club at all times - Any shirt without another clubs brand would not have been a problem so why take the risk? If you say that the emotion of the situation etc., to me that doesn't stack up. I presume he dressed himself.

Tribute or not it was at best ill-judged.

Just an opinion - and no I will not apologise for it.

spot on blu

Who cares why does it matter if he wears a tsirt with Arsenal badge on it ? Maybe he threw it in the case by mistake, maybe he has a little more on his mind at the moment to notice.

Does it really matter, does any one really care ? I certainly dont biggest non issue since the sacking of Hughes.

right I really don't care if I get a warning for this, but yesterday when the thread about Ade wearing an Arse shirt emerged I really couldnt bring myself to read any of it after the initial OP's offal that spewed out creating it.... now to put it as succintly as possible, to call him a mercenary, slag him off etc after what he's been through, for wearing just a fukin top, basically those that did, YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF SMALL MINDED, PATHETIC FUKIN WANKERS, OK!!!!

oooooohhhh tough guy!

You feel better now?

Quite frankly this is bullshit, those having a go at Ade are also attempting to take the moral high ground about his duty to the club etc., but its just that there moral reasoning is quite perverse considering the circumstances

Not attempting to take the moral high ground at all fella, i just felt and pointed it out, that players of his ilk are signed not just for their fottballing abilty, but also their marketabilty, especially in emerging markets that we wish to gain a foothold in.

Africa is such one place and whilst i have always stated how sorry i felt for him, it was a serious error in judgment on his part to wear the Arsenal top as he is paid to be an ambassador for City, to market us, not Arsenal and as a proffesional footballer he knows this full well. I would hazard a very strong guess that the powers that be at City have reminded him of those facts today as well given the press interview earlier that saw him in a City shirt.

You are still making a moral argument based on him having a duty to the club and the fans as his employers. Personally I don't disagree with you that it was a serious error of judgement on his part and even that it was wrong for him to wear the shirt but my point all along, and I think most other people defending Ade, has been that this error of judgement is completely excusable considering the circumstances and that fans shouldn't be having a go at him over something as trivial as a football shirt at a time like this.

To be honest I'm willing to just let the whole thing go now as I can understand where you are coming from, and although I disagree with you, you we're actually quite sane and reasonable in your criticism of him unlike some others

Lol ! i didnt comment on his shirt not even when my spurs mates where phoning me up taking the piss !

so all you lot that slated him ! need to be punished so i say give up your semi final tickets and let those ( not me) that didnt get either have one, either that or just say sorry. cheers. xx

The guy was as close as he could possibly come to his own death.
The shirt he was wearing at the time of his interview was,and remains-totally irrelevant.
Think about it-it could well have been his slaughtered mate's favourite shirt.

Remember guys-for all the passion we all feel for City-at times like that it's only a game.

seriously

the people involved have upset the rest of us very badly

you can expect to cop it for the forsee-able future, until you apologise or show some understanding of just what has upset us so much

this was bluemoon's darkest episode by a long, long way
