SWP - not sure if you saw my post on the previous page. Surely we had to pay him a loyalty bonus, as ludicrous as it sounds, as he never asked to go.
I've not been led to believe we have paid him anything of the sort mate.

It would be fairly standard to pay that though wouldn't it. He would have stayed in the reserves if the money wasn't right and not asked for a move for he would be forgoing this payment. I'm guessing but thought that was standard practice.

You do understand he has not played for us since 2010? We have been paying him money for nothing since then.

He has now GONE... Off the books.. Been fucked off etc etc

Thats then END.

Of course its a saving, as it frees up another place and doesn't result in us paying for another whilst Ade is on the books?
Thank fuck for that. I was doubting my own sanity there.

-- Tue Aug 21, 2012 9:24 pm --

Re: Adebayor gone (Official)

Has anyone been in the thread to brag about how they were ITK about Ade going to Spurs yet?

I mean, only a true ITK would have foreseen it, right?

From what I understand, City will not be paying any of Adebayor's wages at Spurs. £4m straight deal.

I was just lurking, minding my own business, then it started to get to me as it didn't seem to be sinking in with Sniff so thought I'd jump in..

Well would you look at that? City starting to brief some journos with a few calls as they are unhappy with the reporting of the sale? Maybe.

Re: Adebayor gone (Official)

I think "sniff" as a username is probably quite apt for this fella....

Or maybe they've been reading this thread ;-)

Re: Adebayor gone (Official)

Is it just me but The Mirror seems to printing a few stories that appear to be planted by City?

The twitter comment above adds to this.

Re: Adebayor gone (Official)

From the Guardian;

The 28-year-old Adebayor, who enjoyed a productive loan spell at Spurs last season, has completed a £6m move from the league champions having reached agreement over his severance package. His last City appearance was in December 2010 but the player still had two years to run on his £170,000-a-week contract, with Spurs understood to have struck a compromise over his new deal which involves the payment of a significant signing-on fee and a lower salary to be incorporated into the club's wage structure.
