Adebayor (merged)

Well this one isn't. Fee has not been agreed, no bid has gone in, they are waiting for the permit. If accepted then things should move fairly rapidly, as I said before a Player Medical is due to start at 2pm tomorrow, not sure wether its a new player of current injured player but will find out in the morning

If we are going to SA tomorrow surely we should hear the conclusion of this tonight? Correct me if I'm wrong here...only just came online after a day of slightly more than moderate drinking.....

Sorry mate nowhere near a done deal, the medical info has been passed on to city so background checks can be done(which we did today), clubs have not yet agreed a fee, personal terms not done, might get done tomorrow all hinges on Work Permit at the mo.

Shirley, the permit thing suggests to me that matters are at a very advanced stage. Why would they bother arranging a hearing as a matter of urgency unless a fee and personal terms had already been agreed? I get the impression that everyone is in a hurry on this one. They want him on the SA trip so they can start their merchandising with an African player.

NB Some of the Gooners are suggesting that Adebayor is lazier than Berbaflop. Any thoughts on this? .
yeh, ive got a thaught:

LMFAO!

there just doing what the rags did with tevez...

Ah leave it out NWJoe you bar steward, just as I was being philosophical about losing adebayor you go and point how how good he can be ;)

haha sorry mate ! ive only been on today for like 5 mins, havent got round to reading much, glad to see you on here helpin us guys out with real life experience of the player :-) ... atleast you still got RVP and Eddy !

great vid that.. shows adebayor in a different role...to which he seems pretty capable.

there will be no problems with a work permit arsenal got one for him because he had played over 75% of games for togo in the last two years i think so there will be no problems for us as he is togos best player and first on there team sheet. even if the work permit is rejected you can appeal and 99% get granted after appeal

if Adebayor for some utterley bizarre reason didn't get a work permit that would just prove that the FA are rags. He is one of the top 20 players in Europe.

He won't get a permit by default though, Togo's average ranking is 75 and needs be under 70 to automatically meet fifa guidelines. (However permits can be granted at the panels discretion) possibly that why we are pushing ahead with the hearing before tying up the loose ends

Thanks for the info.

I hope whoever's sitting on that work permit panel use their brains. Clearly he'd win an appeal, so don't put everyone through that unnecessarily

Akram? Appeal denied on unspecified (security, ssshhhhh) grounds. That was a laugh.

even if we sign him subject to a work permit he can still play in South Africa like that Sebastian Leto did at Liverpool was able to European away games but couldnt play home games but was eventually loaned out and like someone said to apply for a work permit you have to supply details of the transfer so i think that Stu bloke may have been given some wrong info along the way

Hmm surely this means the end of at least two of Bojinov, Bellamy & Caicedo.

Maybe, but I would say one rather than two. I wouldn't really like to see any of those three go. I fear, if we do get Adebayor, that Caicedo will leave, and that's a shame, especially considering how well he did in the second half of last season. Also, he is only 20 and I think he might have good potential.

Maybe we could loan out Bojinov, to a Premiership club where he would get a season of regular football, maybe that would do him good and help him reach his full ability, also, that might give us more idea about how good he is.

I think Bellamy would have to be a back up player, but I think he could do a good job next season. I think that Benjani and Evans have to go.

City can say how much they are going to pay him to the panel hearing the Permit, doesnt mean personal terms have been agreed, just means City will disclose what they intend to pay him. He does have permission to talk to us though.
