Because Pep, and City will have moved on.So why do you think we would not want him on a free next year?

Exactly. He'll be the wrong age in terms of profiling. We won't be waiting around for him.
Alves was a position we needed for this season. We wanted him to come, he didn't. We moved on and signed Danilo.Like Alves was the wrong age in terms of profiling.

Sanchez is a position we need this season. If he doesn't come we may move on and sign someone else thereby obviating the need for Sanchez. We then may or may not sign Sanchez next season.
So to answer your question, just because we were prepared to sign Alves this season doesn't necessarily mean that we will be prepared to sign Sanchez next season.
If we sign someone else for his position now then would we sign him just for the hell of it next season just because there are other clubs interested in him.Agreed we might not need or want Sanchez next season but i think if he is on a free next season most of the top clubs in Europe will want him. So i can't understand how people can say now that we definitely won't want him next season.

We will usually only sign players because we need them not to stop other clubs signing them.
It's good news in a way. But I just think Wenger is so stubborn that there's no way a deal can happen this summer. Hope I'm wrong.
Sanchez misses the game on Friday night he he

Obviously we have no clue what the club and Pep think about not signing Alexis next year on a free, but if the age is such a concern why not sign him on a free and give him a three year deal, as opposed to a four-year deal that we would probably give him assuming he comes this summer? I don't buy the whole "it's now or never." If it was his choice I think he'd be here. Its just that Wenger wants to save face for the fans (at least up to this point).
Yeah, I ruled myself out of chemistry lessons with the same ailment.
