I know we are all impatient about this one, but City's tactics are far better than, lets say, Barcelona's with Coutinho.
When Barca bid at start of this week ,what motivation do Liverpool have to accept? Even if its good money, they know if they refuse it Barca will come back. If they bid again today, then refuse again, Barca will be back. Then on Deadline day they have a higher fee.
If City had made 5 bids up until now all would've been rejected. Give me one reason that Arsenal should've (hypothetically) accept the first, the third or the fourth bid?
Normally, the answer is because you can spend the money, but Arsenal can still do that and go find the replacements and have deals ready to go....
I dont think its passive, its just avoiding ending up in a one team bidding war.
If the Coutinho deal happens, then if Barca had waited until deadline day or close, he'd be going for less... They are now up to silly money and its only going to get worse.
