You mean this 'Big Dave Watson '?

Always found it odd he joined the exact same day we signed Joleon Lescott, and rarely has anything positive to say about City, call me cynical but ....
I don't think anyone believe BDW is a Blue of the Mancunian variety.

I know we are all impatient about this one, but City's tactics are far better than, lets say, Barcelona's with Coutinho.

When Barca bid at start of this week ,what motivation do Liverpool have to accept? Even if its good money, they know if they refuse it Barca will come back. If they bid again today, then refuse again, Barca will be back. Then on Deadline day they have a higher fee.

If City had made 5 bids up until now all would've been rejected. Give me one reason that Arsenal should've (hypothetically) accept the first, the third or the fourth bid?

Normally, the answer is because you can spend the money, but Arsenal can still do that and go find the replacements and have deals ready to go....

I dont think its passive, its just avoiding ending up in a one team bidding war.

If the Coutinho deal happens, then if Barca had waited until deadline day or close, he'd be going for less... They are now up to silly money and its only going to get worse.

Yes, we're all being impatient and we have absolutely no idea what the club is actually doing, unfortunately :) . Maybe we've got some agreement with Arsenal in place as has been suggested today.

But based on the prevailing thinking on here (Alexis won't put a request in and the club have only just made a 45M bid and want to wait until the last minute):

I take your point regarding negotiating tactics, but surely we can't say for sure all bids would have been rejected. Once you get the player on side, what is the advantage to waiting about before engaging the selling club? If Arsenal put a 70M price tag on Alexis in July, I doubt they would've rejected a bid of that size just to make a point and hope the price goes higher towards the end of the window.

The money men all have a value in mind for players and I doubt those final numbers are glaringly different based on which side of the sale you're on - you surely can and should hope to get the best deal possible, but not always at the risk of losing out entirely

With regards the club formerly known as Barca, the price is what it is IMO, because they tapped up Coutinho and pissed of the dippers. Waiting till the end of the window could mean, among countless other possibilities that, 1) Barca get desperate and pay the asking price, which hasn't changed despite previous bids, 2) The price drops because the dippers have a player on strike who won't do shit this year and might devalue himself further

Don't think bidding changes a thing, personally. Hope all the speculation ends soon one way or another!!

Yeah, outed yonks back as an Everton fan. I remember him giving us some proper vitriol when he thought we'd lost the league at Arsenal (1-0 defeat) to put us 8pts behind the shit. Disappeared for a bit a few weeks later.

Anyway, back to Alexis.

70m would be a bargain for Sanchez when you consider some players going for absolutely crazy money, he knows the league he would hit the ground running, and give a real energy to the attack, we have a lot of games and we need to sign sooner rather than later.
When you totally ignore the contract situation maybe..... the price is too high if you factor that in..

So why are some taking his word for transfers :D got people saying "page .." BDW said this etc :D

well, I don't know the guy and if he's ITK or just very good in guessing but from this fast check of him, he never made a wrong prediction. Let's hope this will be the one.

Perhaps check how late in the day he predicts the outcome.

He predicts the percentages, I've worked with plenty of guys down the years like that.

We're not signing Mbappe either...

BDW is a genius. He has long worked out that if you want to have the highest percentage of correct transfer predictions you always say the player isn't coming, you will then be correct 90% of the time and seem like the best ITK in history without knowing anything. He even admits it himself...are people really still falling for this?

To be a genuine ITK find a player predicted to come and does so. He's not negative for no reason and he genuinely believes they won't come.

It depends what you mean by the contract situation. If you mean what we plan to pay him that may be the case I don't know. If you mean how long he has left on his contract it may improve our bargaining situation but it does not alter one iota his value too us and it is sensible for us to pay how much he is worth to us and get it cheaper if we can.

To not answer all who quoted me - I'll be very happy if watson did one over me here :)

My view has changed a bit too after someone hinted something that is fact and which failed to hit me before - he indeed is only claiming "not coming" stuff.

I did. Done up like a kipper tbh.

Been depressed as f*ck for 2 days after reading that c*nts comments.

The way everyone spoke so reverently about his posts, thought he was some sort of insider at the club. Didn't for one moment think that everyone was aware of of his Everton leanings and therefore participating in a mega piss take.

Anyway back on topic: Thank f*ck for that. Still hope on Sanchez.
