The question is now is how much City believe he's worth with so little time left to run on his contract, I reckon we will look to do a deal for around £45-50m, nothing like the £60m quoted in the MEN today.

He'll have what, 12 months left on his contract by then? Or 18, I forgot.

Simple as that really, I will cause such a division of fans at City.

You can tell by the vote on the poll, it's so close...

I want Rooney to sign, I really do but for it to make such a divison between fans is a price I am not willing to pay.

Shame really as he's a quality player.

What happened to the City 'family'?

We're all one aren't we? We should get behind any player we sign ffs.

44,500 people aren't ever going to see eye-to-eye. I'm perfectly fine with knowing every single bloke or lass around me disagrees with me on something without thinking they're any less of a City fan. As long as we support the club, it's all that matters.

Once he scores his first significant goal, like in Dublin in May, or winning us the League, everyone will forget he once played for them and he'll be a hero...
