this has probaly been said but fuck it

imo rooney will still leave in the summer or at the very latest the summer after. i say when the glazers found out he can fuck off for next to nothing in the summer they shit themselves so offered rooney the money he want and said they will sign everybody. they wont sign anyone decent rooney will get the hump and want to fuck off or the glazers will say its time to cash in now

He's signed a big contract to ensure they get a payday if someone pays stupid money for him? He might have done that when he left Everton.

yeah se singed a 5 year deal at everton and left 18 months later

Re: Victory

An extra 5m a year is hardly going to cause problems for Utd.

Re: Victory

I think some would feel that getting our current owners on board was a slightly more important victory than some overweight overpriced scouser staying at the swamp for an over inflated wage.
Unless of course you are totally obsessed.

Without going around the houses, a lot of people have been duped and Paul Stretford, whatever his faults, has achieved two aims.

To earn a huge pay rise for his client.

To embarrass the media on the back of the prostitute expose.

I very rarely nail myself to the cross, but on this occasion, had no reason not to.

An apology is the wrong word, as I make none for trying to keep fellow blues in the loop, when I can.

It will come as no surprise to tell you very influential people behind the scenes at City were increasingly excited by the prospect.

We were 'the only club in the equation' according to Rooney's puppetmasters.

However, whatever the conspiracy theories, City are seemingly not exactly crestfallen.

Admittedly, I am disappointed we will not have the player to supplement our ranks, but we kick on and with January in mind.

I beat myself up at not delivering on this occasion and owe those who got excited, big time.

You don't owe anybody anything mate, it's all done in good faith.

onwards and upwards the blue moon is rising high.

Congratulations MUFC on the best publicity stun since our 'Welcome to Manchester' campaign!

This must be one of the best choreographed set-ups ever!

Red Nose comes out a hero, the club look ambitious, the fans think they will sign everyone under the sun because thats what Fergie told Rooney!

Awesome and well done.......

Until is comes back and bites them in the ASS!

There may be some rags that believe all of the above, but only the dunces. They need the close season come the summer so they can sell him without courting Swamp boycotts and bizarre death threats from those men in black. He won't be there by August unless it turns out that City don't want to buy him. It is a measure of their desperation if they believe anything else.

The rags need a bit of time to adjust to their new and lowly status in their (alleged) home time.

-- Fri Oct 22, 2010 5:59 pm --

The thing that has got to me most is that Sky have gone into a jizzfest over this.

No bugger else has. They're pretty out of step sometimes when it comes to rags and rooneys.

Re: Victory

I think the victory is somewhat to do with keeping our identity, and as one of the venerable moderators put, not 'selling our soul'. I am elated.

I would argue that it is, but I would also say that not putting 50 mill or so into their coffers And not removing his wages from their payroll, And the rest of the football worlds perception of Manchester City Football Club has us emerging victorious.

City won't be hanging around to do them favours.

United would also be playing a very risky game of providing further months of possible evidence Rooney's spark would not return.

January for City was and is an important factor for a variety of reasons.
