An End to Terrace/Armchair Managers vs Mancini...

De Jong is pivotal to our team and how it works. He breaks up possession and then passes to a player whether thats sideways, backwards or up in the fucking air off the stadium roof. He's not in there to create goals, he's in there for support, for his hard work and his perfect ability to destabilise an opposition attack.

The little and large striker partnership you talk of is utter shite. The large striker needs the ability to hold the ball up, have good control, be good in the air. Dzeko has none of these qualities. Tevez isn't like an normal striker, he comes deep to retrieve the ball, plays neat passes into feet and works a position for an opening.

Zabaleta isn't match fit you're probably right but at least he'd have more pace an passion than fucking Kolorov. Once again Mancini's arrogance thinking that we're better than what we are has cost us 3 crucial points.

When we get beat on Saturday I hope he sits there after and thinks about last nights team selection and wonders if it was worth it? Wanker

My comment on de Jong was sarcasm. It was a response to those that think he brings nothing to the team, but 'slows it down'. Edin never really got the ball into him where he could hold it up, so it's unfair as a comment.

Arrogance is playing a half fit Zabs, who may have got himself sent off for tired challenges. Worth it? No.

He tried an attacking team and yet nobody comments on this factor. Why? Because no matter what he does, he'll be criticised. Be tactical and get critiqued. Be attacking and be critiqued.

It's a no win for him.

Absolute twadlle. He tried an attacking formation with the wrong personel.

Miler on the left instead of Silva? Madness. You've lost his ability to hold the ball and create. Even Milner knows he can't play wide. He's failed every time.

Barry in for De Jong in a two man midfield? Madness. You're going to get the run around because Yaya and Barry have no mobility and can't win the ball enough. Exactly what happened.

Dzeko in for Balo? Madness. Dzeko needs crosses. Even your hero appears to have finally woken up and smelt the coffee on that one. Balotelli is quick, strong and dangerous.

If you're going to play an attacking team those three are first on the team sheet, alongside Tevez.

It's amusing and touching to hear you blame us on Blue Moon for Mancini's self-confessed failures last night though. Awww. Bob and Bigga. Together till the end (6 games now) ;-)

And the problem being that Mancini didn't play '3 holding midfielders'. He played one; Yaya. A centre forward as in Edin Dzeko? No crossers of the ball as in Kolarov and the 'consistent' Adam Johnson?? Do you mean the injury prone 'tear-them-apart' Bellamy who's scored about 5 goals, this season, in a lower division??

You should read/ have a point before having a pop.

its no good making sensible points bigga ,too many folk only see what they want to see.
Bobby should have set up like he did at almost every other away match, aimed to dominate posssesion and nick a goal...i really think he was responding to the idiots who demand entertainment every match..like the old gullible city..how good would a nil nil draw have been last night,or a 1nil win after a tight defensive display?...at the end of the day we need champions league football....just let bobby get on with delivering it in a style true to his instincts..we should have bored the pants off the scousers last night and hit them on the break.
get back to doing what your good at Bobby...
bollocks

You can't see?? Sure you can, you just feel foolish.

Like 'dennishasdoneit' correctly says, this team was very much a response to the 'entertainment' brigade that dogged RM all season. Drop this player, put that one in, make the team attack minded. How unbalanced it was. Discipline out of the window, selling colleagues short with passes, far too high a line because of the forward thing approach.

Apparently, you're a 'thinker', but I'm desperately disappointed with the evidence I have in front of me...

He,s just not prepared to think about the de-jong point.cos you,ve fucked him over good and proper.

yep, last night was down to the bluemoon doom mongerers. not mancini.

clueless bigga, absolutley clueless.

I suspect the little snippet about the media picking up on the 'negative' vibe this board puts out on Mancini's game passed you by...

Who has ever said it would be best to start a game without NDJ and Silva? Nobody. Bigga, where have you got this idea from? I've ssen a lot of calling for Silva in the AM role and NDJ to stay where he is, but never calls for what you are saying you've seen.

As soon as the team news was heard I went from being confident to expecting a point at the most. A shambles of a team selection.

Mate, it has been said on this board aplenty.

'de Jong slows the game down', 'would prefer Barry and Milner in the middle', Yaya should be DM, he's not an AM', 'the team is not attacking enough', 'I'm bored to tears with Mancini's tactics', 'what's he doing leaving Johnson on the bench' etc., etc., etc.

It's been said loads. It's funny how none of the dissenters choose not to hold their hands up!!

My apologies for not picking up on the sarcasm. However I fail to see how an attacking line up as you suggest doesn't contain our most creative midfielder in Silva.

As for Zabba not being fit, why didn't he bring him on for the last 30mins or so. The game was gone and it would have given him so time under his belt going into the weekend.

Mancini's team selection and tactics at times are equally baffling and laughable. His big signings have all failed Kolorov, Boateng, Dzeko, Balotelli. It's time to get rid imo.

I can honestly say that every time there's a NDJ thread there are about 3 people who don't rate him. The rest of the board love him.

I think when Milner was playing in the middle last night for that short amount of time, he was 10 x better than he was on the left and even started being the spark that we looked like we needed... and then he was subbed.
I'd have kept Milner in the middle and rested Silva as long as NDJ was playing instead of Barry.

AJ works ok on the right when we don't have a forward who relies on crosses. Not so good on the right when we do.

To say that RM went for an attacking team last night is a bit wide of the mark. He changed the formation, but he didn't play any players that would have made it work.

The players are to blame for an inept performance as well though, but RM's team last night was an abomination.

Perhaps you haven't watched Milner play at U21 level? He's played left, plenty. Not only that, he professes not to care where he plays, as he long as he's played. After all, he kept cutting inside anyway and Barry was on the left quite a lot. Can you not remember??

Again, I ask you, what's the point in the 'fantastic' AJ if he can't provide a cross?? You may as well have SWP on for the extra protection of Boyata. Kolarov, also, can provide the cross a left winger can.

Finally, for Silva read Tévez. He has similar play but is more likely to pop up with a goal.

If you cannot see the logic of the personnel within the formation, then I truly despair.

We got overrun and hammered with the personel and formation.

So the logic was wrong. Even the manager admitted it. Why can't you?

Nice to see you back on line after the Sunderland game.

I was here after the Sunderland game, complimenting the manager on the changes made...it caused a right rumpus with the tubthumpers who claimed he never made any changes ;-)

Pay attention son.
