An End to Terrace/Armchair Managers vs Mancini...

If you cannot see the logic of the personnel within the formation, then I truly despair.

We got overrun and hammered with the personel and formation.

So the logic was wrong. Even the manager admitted it. Why can't you?

Maybe you cannot piece events together, but the personnel he put out was in response to the negative tag he quite wrongly receives!!

Afterwards, he said he was wrong, probably because he should have carried on the way he has done and not listened to all the whingers!!

You're on a wind up, are you saying Mancini changed a winning team because he was reading Bluemoon ?

Absolute twadlle. He tried an attacking formation with the wrong personel.

Miler on the left instead of Silva? Madness. You've lost his ability to hold the ball and create. Even Milner knows he can't play wide. He's failed every time.

Barry in for De Jong in a two man midfield? Madness. You're going to get the run around because Yaya and Barry have no mobility and can't win the ball enough. Exactly what happened.

Dzeko in for Balo? Madness. Dzeko needs crosses. Even your hero appears to have finally woken up and smelt the coffee on that one. Balotelli is quick, strong and dangerous.

If you're going to play an attacking team those three are first on the team sheet, alongside Tevez.

It's amusing and touching to hear you blame us on Blue Moon for Mancini's self-confessed failures last night though. Awww. Bob and Bigga. Together till the end (6 games now) ;-)

Perhaps you haven't watched Milner play at U21 level? He's played left, plenty. Not only that, he professes not to care where he plays, as he long as he's played. After all, he kept cutting inside anyway and Barry was on the left quite a lot. Can you not remember??.

Maybe he has played left/right wing, but we paid the premium price because he excelled last year playing centrally for Villa. We've made a big mistake in buying him if it was to play him on the wing, as we would have been better placed spending £25m on a natural winger.

Mancini is as stubborn and single minded as they come. The only person who could influence his style of play would possibly be The Sheikj via Khaldoon, I'd say, and he was over last week so there's a possibility this could have happened.

But the point remains the same. If you want to play a 4-4-2 and look to attack you have to have your main creator and main ballwinner in there. It doesn't matter why you are playing it. That was the huge mistake he made. Not the decision to play an attacking formation.

-- Tue Apr 12, 2011 10:49 am --

That's dead right. He was quoted the other week saying he preferred to play in the middle. I feel sorry for him, actually, and I understand his frustration. He's been messed about all season by the manager.

I dare anyone to tell me that Milner on the left instead of Silva improves us. Come on, I dare you.

If Milner doesnt improve us there, why did he start there?

No, I said the change was inevitable and I stated this, last week. The change should have been more than enough for the Dippers to cope with, but they just pressed and we never got the chance to press ourselves.

For what it's worth, I didn't agree with Milner coming off. That was a major mistake. I thought the ineffectual Barry would have gone and allowed de Jong to sit whilst freeing Yaya to join with JM, pressing through their mid.

The sub caught me by surprise, but maybe Mancini has seen enough to give JM the midfield role against the Scum.

Barry will be on the bench, that's for sure.

So basically that 3-0 loss was because we were too attacking even though our most creative player by far was on the bench?

Face it Mancini is clueless.

That performance last night was exactly the same as Villa's against us this year in the f.a cup.

This thread is rapidly moving towards "classic" status, Bigga must be on some heavy medication.

I'm glad you’re so confident that Milner will be playing there instead of Barry. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Mancini reverted to his default line-up and play Barry, YaYa and De-Jong in the centre.

Nah thats me I'm on a cocktail.

One set of tablets for my condition and another to combat the side effects of the first

Come to think about it, perhaps clinic depression is the result of supporting City for too long.

HELP Bugs Bunny where are you?

Bigga if you really wanted to put an end to terrace/armchair managers this thread was probably a step in the wrong direction. Its only served to inspire an orgy of tactical wankery.
This is best exemplified by your 'big man small man, tall defence' argument which is irrelevant when you only cross balls into the box at 38minute intervals at an average height of 3.5mm above grass level.
