Apple iPhone and more

There’s still a lightening cable in the box no? They are basically saying they won’t include the plug.

I genuinely have a draw with half a dozen usb plugs under my tv. Don’t you have a load spare?
Same here.
I don't actually use any cable since wireless charging. I have a nice "butt-plug" covering my hole to stop dirt getting in...

So the wireless magnetic charger they have i think will support up to 15w charging, but will also support the normal cheaper wireless chargers. IMO this is pretty poor, considering OnePlus has 33w wireless charging and i think Xiaomi might even have 40w. AFAIK the wired charging speed maxes at 18w, again thats really poor considering Xiaomi just released a phone that has 120w charging (!) and everyone else does faster charging except for Apple.
They have some AR capabilities which will be cool with the new processor, but AR has existed for years and i even had it on my Pixel 3 XL.
5G is cool, but again its on every new phone now from midrange up and the iPhone in UK won't have MMWave anyway which i even have in my older Mate 20x.
Where i do think Apple have got it right is the pricing and that they are offering different sizes, they'll get everyone with that.
Camera looks excellent again, new chip will allow some proper processing and the pro features are cool.

Overall though, if you have an 11, i'd stick to it as the jump doesn't seem to be huge but if you can sell yours for 700 and get a new one for 1000 then it's a decent trade tbf.

I haven't bought an iphone since the 7, my wife has been using it for the last 2 years when my work provided me an Xr. Camera specs alone draw me to the pro or pro max as does upgrading from 64GB memory which my present Xr has

Still got my 5. Other than the screen being small, there's nothing wrong with it.
I would still have my 3 if I hadn't broke it.
First one I got was the iPhone 3GS, had that for 5 years. Then got the iPhone 7 Plus, had that for 4 years. Now got the iPhone 12 Pro Max and I’m aiming to get many years out of this.

Had iPhone X a few years ago. Was bored if them so chose Pixel 3 for the camera. Upgrade now due.
Pixel 5 is appealing for price (37) and the 16mp camera, but Sky mobile have just offered me the 12 pro for 45 a month with all the gubbins - but it's a 3 year deal, with phone change allowed after 2.

So, iPhone 12 pro users. Any good?

I feel almost dirty selling my soul and thinking about sucking from the apple nipple again, but it sure does look a decent bit of kit.

Only ever had an iPhone 4. Easy to use but i didn't like Apple made it difficult to store MP3s without buying Apple music. Also the Bluetooth connectivity was shite, has it improved since i wonder ?

I'm sure an iPhone 12 Pro is up there in most ways as a top phone but the battery life is a piss poor 2815mAh, fast draining especially on 5G frequency. The iphone Pro Max fares a little better on battery life with a 3687mAh battery, still piss poor for a flagship phone costing silly money! Its taken until now for Apple to introduce the new 'Ceramic Shield' glass screens, probably through buyers constant gripes about how easy the screens were breaking!

But with clever advertising and brand 'must have' brainwashing, Apple users still want their products whatever the cost, and the cost is far higher being shackled to a monthly contract than it is to buy the phone outright and get a sim only plan.

The savvy way to have an hi tech/spec phone is to not be swayed by the big 2 Apple and Samsung into thinking no other phone manufacturers can compete. They can and do, quite admirally infact but not so much in the UK due to the big boys aggressive promotional advertising.

Some of the lesser well known Chinese brands are holding their in the far east to market leaders Samsung Huawei and apple. BBK makes nearly one new phone in every four, yet none bears the logo of the parent company. Instead, they carry one of five brand names. Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Realme or iQOO. All are now officially available in the UK, most at prices between £100 and £400, and all compete with each other. I currently own redmi note pro 9 which i recently bought for a bargain offer at £129 on Amazon, currently selling at £148. It's not a 5G phone but i find 4G is fast enough for my needs. Spec pro-rata'd to price far outweighs any iPhone Samsung ir Huawei!

The Xiaomi red note 9 has an impressive 5020mAh battery, 1080x2340 pixels Gorilla glass(5) screen, 48MP AI quad camera, 4GB-128RAM, 23.5W fast charge and fingerprint security. It really punches well above it's weight for such a low price! £129 for phone and for less than £60 per year on 3 for unlimited calls texts and 4GB of data the running costs over a typical 2 year 'shackled' plan is a meagre(or so) £249!

"You do the maths" - as Dacia like to say : )

Pretty much the same deal I have but I don’t have the pro, mines just a 12. I came from EE and count on my cock how many times I had an issue with poor signal and service. Since joining sky, every day I have issues. I regret joining tbh
