Zidane?? Fucking hell, that's a properly odd one
It is odd, Zidane is actually one of my favourite players I’ve ever watched, players like David Silva, Xavi, Iniesta, Modric, all those natural born footballer type midfielders are the players I enjoy watching the most, they’re not the biggest, strongest, quickest but their brain, touch and vision etc..still makes them standout
Much of what they do is taken for granted as they make it look easy
Saying all that though Messi for a 10/12 year period was quite simply a genius and a good few levels above even those players
Someone saying pundits drooling over sideways passes and stuff, it’s not that it’s the control, first touch taking them where they want to go when they’re closely marked, they’ve done it all in one movement and is made to look simple but it’s pure class
Foden against France was doing it all game, retaining the ball in tight spaces when the majority of players would lose it but you hear rag friends saying “ foden was crap he did nothing “ some people don’t really understand football and that’s my first thought if someone says Ronaldo is better than Messi
