Arsenal (H) - FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Only joined one cup scheme the FA one as I do not, at my age, enjoy midweek night matches but make the effort for PL games.

What happens Chelsea on a Sunday at 4:30pm, Arsenal Friday at 8:00pm and the next match is midweek as well.

That is the FA Cup scheme joining the other 2 schemes in the bin next season.
I enjoyed it. There was a fantastic buzz in Manchester city-centre. I think Friday night football is great. I agree with you on late Sunday kick-offs though.

Semi concussed, my arse. He played the ref, staying down and feigning a head injury when we had a break on. Gamesmanship is what it was.
How do you know that? Just out of interest.

As for your fans. They sang a load of shyte songs like some lower division giddy fans on a big day out. Outside loads had northern accents not cockneys. Arsenal singing is this a library was hilarious coming from how you mainly were at yours. Then singing WWYWYWS? ffs dicks. We just ignore all that shyte nowadays.

"We are top of the league"...awwww bless

They didn't leave at the end ( some did) so fair play for staying and singing as well.

A lot of City fans always fuck off with 5 minutes to go so nowt new there.

Why you keep coming on here winding blues up I don't know ....don't you have your own Arsenal mates?

Fair enough but at the Emirates the stewards eject away fans in the home fans to avoid trouble - don’t you do that at the Etihad?
The lad behind me turned around and said they were welcome to watch but to shut the fuck up or there would be trouble, they looked a bit sheepish in their try hard black t shirts in January ultra look but didn't make a sound for the rest of the game, and no one reported them. When we scored they were surrounded by City fans giving them stick for 10 minutes so made a break for it.

Arsenal are a well structured team. They find pockets of space off the ball and their passing is crisp and accurate. We will need to be top notch if they keep this pattern up for the remainder of the season.

As an Arsenal backer frankly happy with the loss. People can call it loser or small club mentality but when you haven’t won the league in 19 years and you have a relatively thin squad you prioritize competition our biggest competition.

Pretty happy with how our team fared when Thomas was in there. We don’t play well at City no one really does. Lots of changes, and felt we outplayed City and had better chances what they were for early part of match. If City wanted to dent the team’s belief or put fear in us then on that score they failed
“Happy with the loss”? Ask the 7,500 that made the trip,if they thought it was time & money well spent! Had you have won, I’m sure you’d be saying that you put a marker down, get beat, and you’re happy, it’s bullshit and you know it…

So Arsenal have 8 days rest before Everton away. Why not field his starting XI?

I know many were saying we couldn't win once he'd fielded a weaker team but does that not show a little bit of fragility in Arsenal's mentality?

Scared of the starting XI being beaten comfortably, so switches it about to give them an excuse.

Exactly. All this "lost the battle to win the war" glosses over the fact that Arteta didn't have the courage to start his first team, that he doesn't think he can compete on multiple fronts, that Ake kept Saka in his pocket, that they went balls to the wall man to man for 45 minutes and blew themselves out without barely making a chance, that Pep figured out quickly their tactical shifts and adapted accordingly, that we gave them the midfield and they didn't know what to do with it, that their subs didn't make much of a difference, that one of their key players got injured, that Walker and Alvarez came off the bench and changed the game and so on and so forth. They can spin it all they want, Arsenal coming to us and celebrating "only" getting beat 1-0 is fucking small time.

I'm not going to debate this with anyone. Silva is a better option than this Gundogan or DeBruyne....If you don't agree I'm not the one who is going to try and convince you or anybody else. If you believe KDB and Gundo have been good then God bless.

There is no argument, more so in respect of kdb as i believe Silva and Gundo are a decent partnership that compliment each other and the team.

Bernie provides energy, industry, balance, and far better ball retention. We just look far more cohesive with him in the 11.I'm beginning to think the same can be said for Alvarez.

they say managers and clubs never go into any game wanting to lose, well it's a cover for the fans who pay good money to watch, BUT the bigger picture is sometimes there are big games on the horizon and minds games start,
it's a War with many little battles in a long hard season and knowing putting a mark down is bigger than the win,
