Arsenal (H) - Post Game Thread

Dropped points vs Palace, Chelski and Pool have cost us the title.
A disappointing transfer window, a treble last year, no summer break, injuries and fatigue have cost us.

Pep needs to rethink on the squad size

Next season will be even worse with the Euros. and copa america

Have to admit , it is looking more difficult as the games come on. We do not look as commanding as seasons past.

If we do not beat Villa home and Spurs away then we will have not beaten a top 5 side in 10 attempts this season. The football gods might look on us favourably in the last 8 games but I am not hopeful.

Perhaps we need to be a little circumspect as it would be naive to think we can continue to win the league every year.

Whatever, it has been a great ride!

Given the injuries and the patched up defence I'm happy enough with the point.

27 points still to play for and we've just gone through a period where we could have dropped off the pace completely.

Look back to the 5 games we've just had and 3 wins and 2 draws agains the close rivals is more than decent.

We were better than Arsenal today and everyone is blowing smoke up their arses. They've had that **** of a referee allowing persisitant fouling including 2 nailed on penalties.

An absolutely piss poor display of officiating as usual from that red ****. Working to instruction by the look of it.

Haaland getting rag dolled by his shirt by Gabriel, then Saliba going right through him. I guarantee they would be given the other way around.

Also, the reluctance to produce a yellow card alloweed them free reign to just keep fouling...

It wasn't a great spectacle, but Arsenal and the Ref were to blame for that, not City.

We've just played 2 games against these 2 supposed amazing sides in Arsenal and Liverpool and neither has laid a glove on us. Both have sat deep and defended like the Dyche Burnley sides...

It’s hard to write this but I think we need a reset in the summer as we have moved in the wrong direction pretty significantly this season. Unfortunately I do believe that we are the 3rd best side in the league this year even in 19/20 I thought we were a better side than liverpool they just had more motivation, a lot more luck and lot less indivual errors. I’m not really nervous for the ‘run in’ as I’m resigned to the fact we will finish 3rd and the CL finally went our way last season I’m more nervous for the FA Cup as we should be beating Chelsea and then most likely United in the final. But it’s the summer I’m most anxious for, imo Kdb and walker are on the last legs and need replacing, Bernardo will probably be gone too so that’s 3 key players for many seasons most likely gone. We just can’t fudge their replacements like we did with Gundogan last year and are Grealish and Doku really good enough idk? All in all we’ve got to find a way to restore our attacking vigour, the not beating liverpool and arsenal home and away is concerning but only scoring 2 goals in those 4 fixtures is even more so.

Depends who we replace him with though mate? Wirtz is imo 100% staying at Leverkusen next season so he’s off the list and Paqueta is rumored to be adding to the squad and not replacing anyone? We just need some new hungry world class talent don’t we? Some of our current players have been truly amazing for us and given us our greatest moments but we need a big overhaul of genuine world class in the summer . Madrid seem to manage to do it? Bellingham, Mbappe and possibly Davies in the space of 12-18 months? Added into the likes of Vini Jr, Rodrygo etc?

Because they are fucking Madrid, they have much easier time to convince the player to join their club than us because their allure.
