The FC Bayern subsides the away tickets for their fans for the Arsenal match. Arsenal wants 75 EUR - Bayern fans get them for 45 EUR. (3000 tickets - 18000 orders)
'We could charge more than £104 [for a season ticket]. Let's say we charged £300. We'd get £2m more in income but what's £2m to us? In a transfer discussion you argue about that sum for five minutes. But the difference between £104 and £300 is huge for the fan. We do not think the fans are like cows, who you milk. Football has got to be for everybody. That's the biggest difference between us and England.' - Uli Hoeneß

The way all big clubs should be in this country, sadly we are the worst offenders!

That's funny, their season ticket prices are on this website and with the exception of a few blocks every single one of them is more expensive than £104. Many are priced at more than £650

Why? Can you get into the stadium so cheap? Anywhere in England? We are talking of a club that could get its stadium full even when they would charge double or more for the most matches... A stadium that has been sold out for every match since years. For a team that could sell 18000 tickets or probably even more for an away match in England (not a final, just in the round of 16)... - an English club in that situation probably would really charge much as just the money seems to count in the EPL...

He did not talk about all tickets, or? The quote is 2 or 3 years old - and then the standing tickets cost £ 104. That is the blocks you are talking about - and that is where the ultras stand.

The cheapest season ticket for seating (without the ones for handicaped and kids/pupils) cost 340 EUR right now - or 280 £. And yes, it goes up to about £650.

It is very difficult to get season tickets - it is nearly senseless to set yourself onto the waiting list for the tickets as there is ten thousands waiting and not more than maybe 10 every year that do not get renewed...

If Bayern would try to get the most out of their match day income they could charge much more. That is what English clubs would do - and that is what might be the difference. Bayern does not do it with the normal fans - but they do it with the VIP seats and VIP boxes.

A few points Maldeika.... did you sell out against us? I saw thousands of empty seats in the stadium, and yes, I was there. Plus, don't make me laugh, you wouldn't sell 18k tickets for a round of 16 match here.

Our cheapest season ticket, which is seated, is £299.

Don't make me laugh, there will be 100's who for whatever reason cannot/do not renew, financial situation etc.

Then let me answer:

The match against City was sold out. There is 16000 orders for away tickets for the Arsenal - Bayern match. I do not think that the Bayern homepage lies.

Ain't the £299 the price for the proposed new areas for 2015/16 after the extension - if I see it right your ticket prices start right now at £450. Or do I see that wrong. And you do not have a cheaper option for normal viewers.

Actually - it is like this. But let it even be 100 or 200 each year that do not renew - it would take more than 10 years to get in the favour even if it would be 1000 persons that would not renew...

Hard to believe these prices are common in England

People are willing to pay more to watch the premier league with all its twists and turns than watch Bayern +1 (the +1 have all their star players bought by Bayern to stop them really competing).
Btw that match wasn't sold out, you could clearly see at least 10,000 empty seats on the tv.

Bayern is the best run club of the last decade, no doubt about that.

And the german league is also quite attractive, certainly for Bayern fans.

It's a nice gesture anyway
