So you reckon Bayern didn't care about the Super Cup? That was an unusually charged game for a friendly and they certainly weren't having an off day. I'm hoping to meet them again in the CL knockouts for another thriller. They're starting to overtake Barca as my favourite side to meet.

The European Super Cup is the European version of the charity shield. Chelsea lost anyway, so I'm not sure what the point is.

We actually drew and were about 4 seconds away from winning with 10 men. We lost the shoot-out lottery, not a game of football. Regardless of the relative value of the competition, you can't say Bayern did not take that game seriously.

Sure - Bayern took it serious. But at that time of the season Bayern due to personnel problems in the 6 position was still very vulnerable to counter attacks. Schweinsteiger got injured the previous match, Martinez only was ok to play for half an hour (what he then did and that was a big help) and instead of Lahm on the "6" Guardiola tried out Toni Kroos there - and that is not his position. New system - still a couple of problems.

But - that was 6 or 7 weeks ago. I think everybody now sees how the team will really perform in the next months or in big matches - especially as they still will improve.

We did win it, but we didn't beat Bayern in a game of football. The match had to be decided by something and we won out in the end - but the game of football was still a draw.
