Arsenal Thread 2015/16

We did well I thought, got our tactics spot on. Many are saying we were far too defensive but we have tried to outplay teams like Bayern and barca for years and always ended up getting a pat on the back for being gallant losers. Really enjoyed it yesterday and the atmosphere was brilliant. I was getting disinterested in CL but last night was great.

Welcome to our world.
All media must be negative.
All victories must be brought into a 'context' suiting the hack.

How beating Bayern can ever not be a good result is beyond me. It's reported as not being anywhere near full though - an effect of costs? disillusionment?

Hoping it doesn't come down to this but matchday 37 is Arsenal at the Etihad. That could be a hugely important match at the near finish of the title race

Exactly - the rags get a bore draw or Chelski a score draw against Bayern and the media would be insufferable in their sucking off TT or Maureen - there is a really baised narrative these days

Fair play - great performance and achievement that will probably never get the exposure it deserves. Welcome to our world. You need either consistency throughout the season from the talented players in your squad, or you need or to buy in. It's no fun for supporters to have to endure empty trophy cabinets year in year out. purely for the sake of shareholders making a bit of profit, which is clearly the case.

What sort of prick is Wenger? Gets two injuries tonight - when asked about the youngsters he put in tonight ( and who he may need to call upon if they have an injury crisis ) he says they weren't capable of playing at that level.

If they aren't good enough according to their manager to play Sheff Wed then how are they going to feel if he has to hand them their PL debut in the next few weeks?

and if they aren't good enough why hasn't he had the vision and foresight to see that beforehand, and therefore not pick them?

Surely they're not too upset at getting put out of the Cup by lower league opposition given they're going to win the league?

Well first of all i didn't agree with starting giroud or ox, or having walcott come on - thats 2 of our 1st choice strikers as well as the only fit player we have to play on the right since ramsey got injured.

However, can hardly blame wenger for the injuries, he had to put 11 players out there and they could have got injured in any game even a england friendly.

As for the rest, i really don't understand your post. Take a look at the names we had playing today - if you knew about arsenal you'd know we'd have to have almost our entire 1st 2nd and maybe even 3rd 11 injured before ANY of those players would get called upon for any important league games. The reality is we don't have a lot of great youngsters available, the most promising ones are out on loan (gnarby, akpom, crowley, zelalem, another young striker at ipswich etc).

Apart from the silly sarcasm, i agree that i don't think anyone connected with the club will give 2 shits about being out of this competition, its almost impossible to juggle 4 competitions and to lose players like walcott ox for the sake of a crap competition the no one really cares about is ridiculous.
