Vinay Venkatesham left as CEO in summer and Edu was close to him. Edu's influence has been diminished since then with Tim 'no handshakes' Lewis gaining more clout behind the scenes. Edu apparently wanted the CEO role.

Plus Marinakis offering a shed load of money.

That's the main reason from what I'm hearing.
Was this expected at Arsenal as in Edu to leave his role and Arsenal completely or has this come as a surprise?

Arteta only signed a new contract a few weeks back, It would be interesting if he would have done knowing Edu was leaving his role?

Definitely a surprise to the fans but we weren't aware of the politics behind the scenes

What's the general concensus regarding cone boy amongst Arsenal fans?

We prefer to call him legohead btw; )
The circle jerk over coneboy is still going strong, I've given up on arsenal forums cos no one wants to hear an alternative perspective.

Another tropheyless season is due, and the damage control from the artetasexuals is just going to take the club further backwards.

City is the benchmark on how to run a club both on and off the field. There's no process and PR campaign to justify pep.
You lot want to win and sign the best.

Yet we settle for rejects like havertz, zinchenko, Jesus and sterling.

Just remember the garbage we were dishing out before Arteta arrived. We've had 2 seasons where we've challenged for the title and despite the recent hiccup we are getting our injured players back and have a decent fixture run after Chelsea away. We've had by far the hardest fixture list of the challenging sides.

We'll overturn the 7 points the Dippers have on us. I'm less confident we'll overturn the 5 City have on us but this isn't the time to flake.
Lol, don't you have to go to Anfield? you might as well make that 10 points plus a worse goal difference to make it 11 points to turn around. That's 3 losses and a draw. You got a miniscule chance of turning that around. Like I keep telling you you've already lost the title

If so, c'est la vie. I've plenty of experience of not winning the league as an Arsenal fan so it won't come as a shock.

Edu leaving might seem like a shock initially but is it really? Ultimately he alongside arteta are responsible for the squad they have and the results.

They've spent more money than any one manager has had during his reign and ultimately all they have provided us with is the biggest bottlejob the league has ever seen.

Now that city finally look way off the standards we've set and the title might be attainable, they've turned into an expensive Stoke, the decision to go down that route is one you take knowing if you do not deliver it's not going to end well.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's been told to jump before he's pushed.

100% they'll enquire with Txiki about his intentions. I'm surprised they haven't had our groundsman such is the desperation to be 2018 city.

Thank god for this, sounds like the Kroncunts have realized they have got fraud running their football club.

If the hierarchy is correct if they had enough of coneboy, they would have to ask Edu to sack him, but sacking coneboy means edu would get sacked as well for backing this fraud.

So Edu doing a runner to avoid getting sacked and hoepfully coneboy will get the boot in the summer.

Txixi and Inzaghi in this summer?
You sound like that Lee Gunner fella. He's not Arteta's biggest fan.

The biggest bottle job was the Rags pissing away an 8 point lead with 6 games to go - no games in hand either. However, no one was allowed to say it because of the **** managing them. Proper bottle job as well - weren't they 4-2 up at home to Everton, then lost at Wigan and then they came to our gaff with absolutely no intention of trying for anything other than a 0-0.

I only knew of the guy when they started calling me him when I called us bottling the league in 22/23 when we were 8 points clear.

I hate arteta its simple as that. Peps coneboy is not going to win you CLs and PLs. His signing made no sense unless that senile dinosaur wenger made the recommendation in his last years. Why no other clubs went after him, hes an everton legend after all?

Disagree with that. We beat them in closing that gap so knowing that we had the opportunity to close the gap by beating them it was only ever really a 5 point swing we needed, still a bottlejob but not on Arsenals scale. Arsenal surrendered 2 goal leads in 3 consecutive games, one at home to a team that went down. a hattrick of classic bottlejobs on the bounce see's them holding that title firmly.
