Why is it when you’re chasing a match your players are never hurt yet when you’re winning, every touch results in a fucking 10 minute medical diagnosis? Cheating bastardsI remember when Joelinton when two hands into Gabriel at St James park last season. Gabriel was told he 'needed to be stronger'.
I also remeber when we had Hleb, Rosicky, Fabregas, Arshavin, Nasri ect - all nimble footballers with a slight body frame, everyone loved it when Stoke would body us. Now we have a massive team in terms of height and strength, and when we throw our weight around in the box, rival fans are now running to the referee saying we are too physical inside the box. 'Ref Ref Ref', 'Arsenal dark arts' ect.
Will be interesting to see if the league tries to make the PL more like La Liga to negate our physicality - I think a letter was written to the PL about our corner routine. All because we are scoring from corners. Shame there wasnt this concern about physicality when Eduardo and Ramsey were being sent to the emergency room in an oxygen mask.

I think we are now doing Pulis' Stoke a disservice by calling these the £800m Stoke. Even Stoke played a bit more football and scored a few goals from open play. Do they score anything other than set pieces?

I've said that myself in the past, and comforted myself with it, but it's different circumstances.
That Trafford team was well past its sell-by date, it was running on very little more than its own sense of entitlement, and flogged by its Govan taskmaster. It played way, way above its real value that season. This Liverpool side are by contrast serious contenders. Not as good as the Firmino/Salah/Mané side of three or four years ago, but somehow more balanced. Arsenal are genuine contenders, Chelsea are now starting to kick into gear. We're competing against three teams, all of whom look pretty solid, in their way. Not one.
I honestly now think the title's gone, but let's see what we can do in other competitions. And above all, aim for top four.
In any case it's always a huge pleasure to bring a new United manager down to earth and remind them what they've got themselves into. Long may it continue.An honest assessment.
