Arsenal will be there or abouts this season.

Really they have only improved where they've not needed to improve. Like they've bought forwards, when it is the defence that has suffered the most. Aguero sauntered through them in pre-season, with a bunch of youth players in midfield, doubt they will improve too much, although the top 4 will get much closer this year.

They needed to improve their attack massively. I watch quite a bit of them and this was by far the least creative wenger team. They were lucky RVP had one in a life time season. But they needed a creative midfielder desperately and better strikers than Chamakh and park. And before people say they have plenty of attacking midfielders, rosicky and ramsey are nowhere near Cazorla level

If Arsenal can keep RVP and Song, I think it'll be a four way battle for the title with us, Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Arsenal have bought very well this summer. Podolski and Cazorla are both brilliant and Giroud provides good back-up in a department where they short (other than RVP, obviously).

Their defence isn't as bad as it's made out. They have a top goalkeeper and a back four of Sagna-Koscielny-Vermaelen-Gibbs is pretty solid. It's the back-up that's the problem. It's terrible, if I'm being honest. The likes of Jenkinson, Djourou and Squillaci are nowhere near good enough. If they can keep the first choice back four fit, they won't be a million miles away from us.

No, still 3-4 players away I reckon. Another goalkeeper, a right back, a defensive midfielder and maybe even another striker. If we can avoid injuries to key players (ha!) and tighten up defensively, who knows? We've got a really tough 6 opening fixtures. If we can get through those without the massacre of last season, I might be a little more optimistic. But I'll settle for general, all-round improvement. That would be a step in the right direction.

i'm suprised Wenger wasn't in for Alou Diarra considering he went for just 2m. With Song possibly on the way out he'd have been a half-decent stop gap or back-up player if he does end up staying.

I think they will hold onto Song this season. IF he has another good season this year he will be heading off to Barca next season is my guess. It all depends on Van Persie. IF he stays and signs a new deal Song might do the same so it might not be too bad for the Gunners. IF Song goes to Barca now expect him to get a Barca player in return plus big cash for Song. I dont mind how he works in the transfer market he gets hugh money for his players even if they are heading into the last year of there contracts. Arsenal you have to say it about it they get way over the odds for some of there players they sell in the market at times.

The trouble with Arsenal/Wenger is that they never take responsibility for anything that doesn't go their way. Nasri gets sold its City's fault, RVP wants to leave its other clubs 'ruining their work', they lose a game and the other teams style is at fault.

Until they accept that they need to change their attitude and until they get a 'plan b' they will not finish above City or United

They never replace their best players, should of done when Bergkamp retired and Viera left.

This is pretty much spot on, we improved a bit when Rosicky hit some form in the second half of the season & really relied heavily on RvP to win us games. We also lacked depth and the only game we won last season that Arteta didn't play was the last game of the season.

We're looking much better in that department now especially when Wilshere gets back and the defense should be a lot better(injuries forced us to field 19 different back 4 combinations whilst trying to bed in new players) if not up to the standard of you lot and Utd.

I'd fancy us to finish above Chelsea and would be disappointed if we weren't a lot closer that 19 points to you & Utd.

As long as Wenger lets Bould sort out the Defence of the team they will be a better defencesive unit. Going forward they will be like the Arsenal we all know. I honestly think they might surprise people this season in how close they get but might fail in the league. I am certain they will win a cup this season. Then a bit like City that will boost them for years to come and Arsenal will be our main rival for years to come if they keep hold of there players. I can see RVP signing a new deal if he starts the season at the club and if Arsenal start brightly Wenger will be talking and offering him big money to get him to stay. They will break the bank to keep him.

what about rumors of usmanov or that russian who wanted to take control of the club?
