There are only so many fish in the sea. If you overfish (that is take more than currently) you soon won't have any fish at all. As to British waters, if Scotland and NI leave the UK (which is at least likely) the fishing grounds of England and Wales that are left will be quite modest.

Apart from which, certain British fishing firms (NOT the Government or the EU) chose to sell their quotas to the Spanish years ago. So that will need sorting out too.

I very much doubt that overnight we will be presented with a glut of cheap haddock. (Cod isn't worth eating anyway.)

Oh, please. Just read the post.
I shouldn't have to explain the post but i'll try.
You posted about the River Class fishery protection boats and inserted an Island(?) class patrol boat picture. I corrected that with an a picture of a River class.
You posted that it could sail to the 200 mile limit but would not have enough fuel to return. I pointed out that the endurance of a River class is around 5000 nautical miles and not the 200 miles you inferred.
I hope this post helped. If you need any more help please consider me as your personal 'naval expert' or use Google whichever you find easier.

The next steps will be fun. Scotland leaving is a no brainer, and Northern Ireland is an unwanted step child basically. The UK would love to get rid of the financial burden and Ireland don't want it back for that very reason. If Ireland does take it back, it'll leave the UK as just England plus Wales. How this made sense to start is beyond me.

Some very interesting times ahead.

Now that sums up a certain type of Brexiteer. All will be well, and freedom means we can fish all we like and if that causes problems we can do for ourselves what the EU would have done. Except as fish swim and don't know about 200 mile limits, you'd think some international agreements might help.

Are you ill?

We're not retreating from the international world, and all the international agreements that come with it. Quite quite the opposite. We are reentering the world. More importantly we are putting in place the steps required to enshrine the right for an elected uk govt to enact laws and statutes of its choosing. All the while doing so knowing full well they will have to answer to the uk electorate.

And if you or I do not like the policies and agreements said uk govt sign us up to you can change the govt at an election.

The pretend left in this country have got used to pulling the wool over the eyes of their 'thick, northern, working class' core support and have morphed into what are basically Tories with cool beards. Now we are leaving the EU there is great panic and consternation in the leafy suburbs of the 'compassionate affluent classes'. They will actually have to DO something for the people who's votes they have got used to weighing. The excuse of 'not us guv, it's the EU rules innit, now pour me another overpriced coffee and I'll leave you a 10p tip to prove how much I care about the working classes' is over.

For all the patronising, head-patting worry over the plight of the disadvantaged in society it's the leafy, rich suburbs that are in mourning. The working class areas of this great city and nation are getting on with their lives , feeding their families, and looking forward to the future.

March 29 2017. The day the hypocritical elites began to cede power to the people who's sweat and toil have made them rich.

And they fucking hate it.

I think Ireland will leave the EU.

Scotland isn't going to leave because they won't give them a referendum.

I think Ireland will leave the EU.

There's absolutely zero chance of that buddy. Take it from someone who grew up in one of the biggest shitholes in this country where nobody had a job or a chance, and runs a very successful business in Dublin's most affluent area these days. Ireland's seen the worst of it, and knows that we're stronger for being in the EU. We're also not easily lead by shite like the dailymail and welcomed foreign nations into our country as long as they wanted to work and contribute.

Trust me, Ireland will be the last to leave the EU, because we aren't idiots.

Scotland will definitely leave. The population up there feel betrayed. They voted for inclusion, and had it thrown back in their face with Brexit. It may take a decade, but it will be the main story for the time it takes to happen.
