replaced:

a dickhead at fullback with Gvadiol who can cover CB
A player who wished to leave in Gundo, with Kovacic and Nunes
A player who had an offer you would be daft to refuse at 31 in Mahrez with Doku

Laporte you can file under a year later than it could have bee nas Akanji basically took his position last season

Palmer, well he wants more game time and has took a risk with where he has gone, McAtee is back and Bobb moves up the squads and replaces

All in all a good window, and thoae fretting about the goals from Ilkay and Riyad, well we will have to wait and see what tgese new players achieve under Peps tutilage

At this moment in time
Gvardiol is better than Laporte
Mahrez is better than Doku
Kovacic Gundogan a draw
Nunes is replacing Phillips and has to be better.
Throw in the fact Alvarez will get more game time, Phil will play more centrally then I think we'll be absolutely fine.

Care to offer an opinion on what i said , are we weaker or stronger ?
Think we’re probably a bit stronger, to be honest. Much better defensively and I think Gvardiol will offer something going forward.
As for going forward, Phil is the obvious cover for KDB.
Where goals are concerned, Gundo scored 16 league goals across the last 2 seasons, as did Riyad, so I’d hope we can find those goals from the newcomers, along with Phil stepping up to 15+ and Rodri and Jack getting into double figures.

Jack will never get into double figures that is for sure(trying to reverse jinx him ! )

I’m not sure how it could have been much better. Disappointed that we never got Paqueta, perhaps, but events there were beyond our control. That said, we will now have pace and power on the pitch that should better play to the strengths of Foden, Haaland, Alvarez, and Grealish. I know people think we are short in attack because of de Bruyne’s jnjury, but I would rather see his lay off as a blessing in disguise. He is not getting any younger, and with no Gundogan, Mahrez, or de Bruyne, the others now have to step up to the plate and demonstrate that they are capable, which I’m sure they will. By his return, if we are still in all competitions and we set in the League, then confidence among the group will already be high and we still have his skills to return. The season should also see Lewis continue his development and I suspect that by May Bobb will have shown that we’re not light in attacking options.
