Get Mitoma on that left and brilliant squad…
Is the squad roughly the same but Nunes in for Palmer? Doku for Mahrez, Kovacic for Gundogan and Gvadiol for Laporte. All younger. Rodri will get far more help this serason. Alvarez is likely to take Mahrez's minutes and Foden will play far more.Think our squad depth is a bit thin on the ground
Phillips, Gomez, Bobb are now back ups for regular first team players - and realistically how many would start those players in any game baring dead rubber CL matches, early FA cup games (depending upon draw) and maybe the odd home game against lower prem teams.......not many would choose them......
The defensive portion (inc goalkeeper) seems fine.....attacking mid seems very light
We need to have a bit of luck with injuries (Ie not getting them)
And some experience. Its not just a numbers game. We were also very lucky with injuries last season. No guarantee the same will happen this season
Thanks for letting me know, voted now! Not sure what the point of a vote is, we all know the majority here would think even a window of us signing Ward-Prowse, Ndidi, Harvey Barnes & Ben Mee to replace our elite level players that have left would have been at least an 8 or 9 out of 10 window based solely on the fact that we won the treble last year and signed great players in the past :)@Vester Let's get that 3 vote submitted
Laporte??? We’ve a plethora of defensive options6. Decent enough signings but losing Gundogan and Laporte means they need to hit the ground running and we need another forward which is looking unlikely.
LolzMonetarily I would give it an 8 but squad wise it’s a 5
All true until news just now that Sheffield United have signed McAtee again on loan. Otherwise, I agree that we're likely to see improved goal returns from Kovacic and Nunes.replaced:
a dickhead at fullback with Gvadiol who can cover CB
A player who wished to leave in Gundo, with Kovacic and Nunes
A player who had an offer you would be daft to refuse at 31 in Mahrez with Doku
Laporte you can file under a year later than it could have bee nas Akanji basically took his position last season
Palmer, well he wants more game time and has took a risk with where he has gone, McAtee is back and Bobb moves up the squads and replaces
All in all a good window, and thoae fretting about the goals from Ilkay and Riyad, well we will have to wait and see what tgese new players achieve under Peps tutilage
