Steve Cram just saying Knighton and Welteji were banned yesterday, I missed that, lengthy bans too.

Bit of a disgrace that Ethiopia picked Welteji over Haylom with that ongoing.

The Knighton one was always coming, the US really undermined their integrity with that one.

Reading about this subject this week, I was staggered just how many well known athletes are coached by “disgraced”’ex-sprinter Dennis Mitchell. You would think athletes would distance themselves from ex-dopers (wouldn’t you?).

Apparently his explanation at the time was along the lines of: the night before being tested he’d had 5 beers then made love to his girlfriend four times, because she deserved a good night.

Track and field should be ashamed of race walking. They should disown it. Virtually nobody would miss it, other than the participants and their close relatives. It’s a laughing stock.

Get rid, and let it stand on its own two feet …

I can drink twice that amount, not sure about 4 times but I might last 4 minutes.

Most of them aren't even walking, its basically who can get away with the most running. Most of them have 2 feet off the ground more often than not.

Not the only coach they flock to. There is another American coach I think is extremely suspect currently coaching some of the world's best. There's been rumours all the way back to the late 80's.

The agents are as bad too, always the same agents athletes getting busted and they're continuously picked by athletes. In the East Africans cases a lot of young athletes are exploited in exchange for cash.

Just watched the pole vault final. What an athlete Duplantis. Always turns up and turns it on at the big meets. Meanwhile our female vaulter following her flop in Paris manages to injure herself in the warm-up

Duplantis with another WR. 6.30!!

He's incredible, great to watch.

Commentator said he had 119 successful clearances over 6 metres, and Bubka had something like 47!

Been some brilliant performances already, shame not by Brit’s so far. The French lad winning the 10k, the men’s marathon finish was unreal, Swiss girl in the 100 hurdles and the steeplechase. Hopefully some of the Brit’s step up and looking forward to the men’s 1500.

I was going to list them before, good list, I'd add the women's marathon too, 2 great marathons with fights to the end for the medals.

So many great moments, the men's steeple and 10k were great races.

Must admit, I thought injuries had probably finished Jake Wightman at the very top level but he's ran two cracking races. It's been a bit of a mixed bag for the British so far but I was very impressed with Emily Newnham, she's got a big future. And good to see that running in the mixed relay team isn't beneath her, if others had the same mindset they would all probably have Gold medals now. I don't buy this guff that they can't run 1 extra 400m each, it doesn't seem to affect Bol or Klaver negatively.
