Atmosphere 2024/25

First ten minutes today we were alright, but after that while the game was till in the balance we were silent.
To be honest mate, I’m not sure I even agree with that - the first 10 weren’t awful but we’re capable of so much more

To me it was just singing to have a laugh because we know we were beat, which is fine.

My point though, is that there’s just nothing when the team *really* needs us, when the game is there to be won. Not enough singing in general and certainly not reactive enough to things happening on the pitch.

All you have to do is look at Madrid 22/23 and Liverpool 18/19 (there’s plenty more, those two just stick out), to see the difference it makes. It just isn’t there and wasn’t there even *once* last season either.
Madrid and Liverpool were totally different and bear no resemblance to today's match.
No team can create Madrid every match, it's simply not possible.
I stood on the Kippax when you could hear a bloke in the Main Stand turn the pages of his newspaper.
The team were soundly beaten today so credit to the fans who a) sang and b) shouted and cheered from the other stands.

I’m not saying the atmosphere today should’ve been as good as those games but I expected more. Pep extension, Rodri return, in bad form and coming up against a good team. And there was just nothing.

From watching on tv. Mixed today. Didnt feel that we got behind the boys enough in the first half. Second was much better and to the end. Spurs fans were poor considering they should have been bouncing. Went to theirs for the first of our 5 losses and we were decent then, they were poor again. Wouldnt take a huge effort to put us near the top of the atmosphere table. Just wish everyone would make a decent effort. I have a croaky voice the following day after every game i go to, and im 59.

As a fanbase inside the Etihad, we don’t drive the team on anymore. Whether that’s down to complacency, non stop success and winning, or the match day fan demographics changing, our match day support and atmosphere has certainly changed for the worse.

I was in 106 and was surrounded by tourists and even Spurs fans, I don't see how we are going to get an atmosphere under those conditions.

Popcorn anyone?

There was a busty Korean bird with Son on her top in CB3 today

100%, its our stand we can make it what we want !!
Soriano et al might let a small group of supportive, vocal fans in there but only to give the daytrippers and corporates something to gawp at and swap funny stories about when they’re relaxing in the North Stand’s new 5 star hotel post game

Faustian fucking pact. They gave us what we wanted and now it’s time for us to pay with our souls

Agreed. Atmos in bygone years is a myth. Big games it's good like it always has been. Atmos not an issue for me.

3000 safe standing City fans isn’t bad out of 8000 NSL2 City fans.
How many of those 3000 safe standing fans are going to sing at the back of NSL2, and throughout the match, is anyones guess. As for the other 5000 seated City fans in front of the safe standing section on NSL2, I wouldn’t hold your breath, unless it’s v United and Liverpool, at a push, with City are winning.

Fair play to the lads who stayed post match. Team didn’t deserve that.

When the away fans are shifted down into rainy corner (ESL1/SSL1) and SSL3 & 2 are all City there'll be 9000 singers and noisy feckers making a racket.

Two ends are better than one !!

I’m with you on this Burton. But I wouldn’t hold your breath.
