Atmosphere 2024/25

I have a new problem with the atmosphere. 5 of us up from Kent in 318 but we couldn't get tickets together even after being online for hours on release date.
So we were scattered around 318 is five like a song. Fans around me weren't singing and my mates said the same.
4 of us are foc been going for decades. Whilst I enjoyed the game I missed being with my mates.
We have another 3 games booked so far but again we aren't next together. If this is the same next season I'll knock it on the head and call it aday after 40yrs of match going. Seven and a half hrs drive to get to the Etihad than not sitting with your mates to enjoy the game. What's the point ?.
This is the first time we haven't even been able to get seats as a pair or more. I didn't enjoy not being with my mates, I missed the banter, the joy of scoring, the singing etc. If am honest I'm not really looking forward the next next 3 games we have.
Going to the game is about having a crack with your mates, I missed that but most of all I missed being sat with my lad.
I'm not saying us 5 made any difference to the atmosphere but us 5 didn't really sing because no one around us was really singing.

PS I don't think having the legend lounge in the middle of the SS works
Have you thought of moving to Manchester ?

a good portion of south stand decide to go up to concourse always around 10 minutes before half time and the atmosphere does kind of flattern in that time. I don’t really understand why they need to leave early for half time with the redevelopment of the section it’s pretty quick getting a pint even if you leave right on half time
Not yesterday mate took about 20 minutes and I went at 40

I could hear Ipswich in all 3 tiers.
I could hear Ipswich fans on South stand level one after Ipswich scored, sporadically after that, and when I walked out of the South stand after the full-time whistle, which was the loudest I heard Ipswich fans sing all match. Bar that on level one, Ipswich fans spent most of the match quiet, and then started bantering City fans to amuse themselves.

You could ask to swap seats with whoever it may be, you never know if you explain your situation.

FF to 10:28 just before the Ipswich goal. Then watch the reaction and windup banter from the City fans in SSL1 after Haaland scores the 3rd goal.

The Poznan on ESL1 is at 15:00.The lad filming says, “Look at that” Then loud chants of “City, City….

Luton… we only won 2-0? What’s he on about?

All these away teams go down singing football in a library chants you would think their grounds would be bouncing every week. Been plenty of away games with City and many home crowds in England are worse than ours.
Most are worse than ours, ours is hardly a cauldron most of the time, nowhere is, but when it’s quiet it gets splashed all over social media because it’s “cool” to have a dig at City and it gets engagement. Which leads to us fretting more than most about it.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, when Anfield is quiet there’s nowhere quieter in England.

Watching Liverpool now… it’s dead!

A lot of posts on here seem to care more about the atmosphere than winning. Ipswich fans with there 2football in a library" chants did make me chuckle. Sad twats.
Keep bringing the trophies home is all I care about. Yes it was quiet yesterday but anyone who doesn't think most premier grounds are like that then they are sorely mistaken.
I was at Chelsea last week. It was abysmal but the away end was really really loud.
To be fair it is a thread about atmosphere. I don’t think people care more about atmosphere than winning, but it is an important part of going to a match. I don’t really go to the football to sit in silence, the atmosphere is often what makes it enjoyable.

I promise to make more noise against Brentford than I usually do, well I will try at least :)

Is anyone else having problems with the sound on the dippers game?
Not sure if my TV on the blink as I can't hear fuck all of the crowd

let's be honest. it was Ipswich at home. It was hardly a game in we needed to raise our voices (although it would have been nice)

If we had been losing longer into the game, we would have no doubt heard more from the home. But as it is, it was like any other match in the PL.

The South Stand lower tier has gotten quieter and quieter in the last two seasons. I'm not sure why; maybe it's the increased number of daytrippers going in their seats before those who want to sing.

Something urgently needs to be done, as if there isn't anything done, then the North stand expansion will just be like any other.

Remember last year Ipswich lost at home to a non league team in the FA cup. I felt sorry for them at the time as that clubs fans raised the roof and came in their thousands in their first FA cup tie they had a following of 24. It's a fact that little clubs always make a racket when at more illustrious opponents yesterday was a case in point.

Remember when we was in the lower leagues our away following was always huge, one time at Huddersfield we changed ends at half time, what a sight it was.

Most of us FOC’s still live in the past. The younger fans from other clubs don’t know about our past support, and have no interest in it. Older fans from other clubs will remember how good our support has always been home and away. I don’t think the “where were you when you were shit” banter come from them.

You can hear the Liverpool players talking to each other it’s that quiet. The commentators don’t mention a thing though.

It's getting more commercial at our ground, but anfield is like Disneyland now. I wonder what all the scousers think who used to go, but now can’t afford it.
