Atmosphere 2024/25

For once the tourist next to me yesterday was actually a City fan (hurray! happy because it’s 50:50 whether they are or not, which is a shit situation) so I won’t moan too much about the tourists at yesterday’s game. He did get excited when we almost scored about eight times but he still didn’t sing or shout anything during the game.

It doesn’t half dilute the stands with people who haven’t got a clue about getting behind a team when we aren’t winning.

We do need more of it from us proper fans though.

All those of us who stayed and sang at the end of the game, if we’d done that with as much gusto at 0-0 0-1 or 0-2, maybe we’d have lifted the team?

Look at what happened against Sparta Praha - It was quite a boring and flat game on the pitch at 1-0 and it was a boring and flat game in the stands n’all. Then around the hour mark the Sparta fans started acting like cunts and the two singing sections either side of them started chanting and it raised the atmosphere around the stadium. The team (unaware of the aggro between the fans) got a lift from it and went on and played well and twatted them 5-0, probably thinking we were getting behind them.

A bit of that yesterday at 0-1 or 0-2 might have turned the game (of course, also might not have) but we didn’t bother until it went 0-3 by which stage the game was over.

Good effort at the end, it was still good to see and the players really did noticeably appreciate it after the final whistle, but we could do with belting it out more when the game’s in the balance.

Fair play to the lads who stayed post match. Team didn’t deserve that.

Really ! Fucking hell, this team has just done the treble and 4 in a row. The're going through a rough patch but are still trying. Some aren't 100% fit both mentally and physically. The team has had its heart ripped and this effect every single players performance. Name me a team that can lose both Rodri and KDB and still be top draw.

So to me the players did deserve the fans staying till the end. Perhaps some fans don't deserve this team

If I could afford to go to every game I fucking would, come win, lose, or draw.

My last game was Brighton away fucking loved it, if we have fans who expect us to win every game, well they can jog on.

This team needs our support more than ever now, I understand the problems of the atmosphere and tourist fans etc. I understand lots of us die hard blues can't afford to go every week.

I've just been out with my chest out and my City coat on. I'm not hiding away.

Time to get behind the lads regardless of performances, they have earnt it and deserve it.

We win - the atmosphere thread gets bumped.
We lose - the atmosphere thread gets bumped.
We play in an empty, closed stadium - the atmosphere thread, you guessed it, gets bumped.

It doesn't make the slightest difference and is used as a deflection by managers and fans alike.

There's far more important issues reasons, and concerns for the current malaise.
Such a childish thing to get so exercised about.

He wants to fight everyone on the forum.

Having a meaningful conversation with him is pointless

It's always his way or no way

I'm right. You're wrong. Yawn.
Actually no, he thought i was one of the thousands who left early, i didn't and told him...what's wrong with that ?

I’ve not followed the North Stand development in detail but is it correct the ‘singing end/standing area is in the third tier of the stand. If so that sounds like a cynical seat grab by the club of the best ‘experience’ seats to sell on to football tourists and those who are less inclined to give the club vocal backing. Further eroding the atmosphere and making the ground look even more sterile.

If this is the case vocal fans should stay in the south stand.

Looks like we had great support in the last 10 minutes, in adversity, which is excellent.

Sadly I was one of those who left on 86 mins (never normally leave early) but I did have a 5 hour journey home through Storm Bert as my defence. Any blue going further south than Warwick Services, down to the south west coast, will know how bad it was last night

I’m starting to think similar. Could the north stand expansion actually make the atmosphere worse. My fear is that some fans will move to the north stand and there former seats will then be sold onto corporates or as match day tickets.

So we might end up with more singers around the ground, but in smaller sections. With more sections becoming corporate in between

Hopefully I’m wrong.

Why don't they have one stand for tourists.
Who can film each other and compare what they have purchased in the city store.
Leave the rest of the ground to normal fans
