Atmosphere today/moving seats

Very interesting that mate, cheers for the reply.

I wouldnt want Chelsea to have an Ultra's type group like Palace for example, a group like City have is the right way to go imo, we have a new shed end group starting up who have been working with the club for a while now mainly regarding flag displays, they have arranged some quality displays in recent years, though as we all know flags dont sing, supporters do, this new group i hope will be able to convince the club that standing/singing all game is how it should be, another problem we have is our stewards & security are total arseholes.

While i'm glad we're staying at the Bridge i cant help feel a bit disappointed with the design because we all hoped it'd be much much better with proper singing areas.
Regards atmosphere & the tiers helping drown out the away fans, dont you think that might hinder City fans for being more up for certain games?
As we know football is tribal & there's nothing better than seeing 1,500/3,000 or whatever away invaders up & singing & kicking home fans in to life, maybe if City fans cant hear away fans they wont be so keen to get up & sing? obviously i dont mean your new 1894 group but the sort of fans that sometimes need a kick up the arse to wake them up.

The Chelsea fans in the top tier numbered about 1500 and certainly helped with the atmosphere up there. To be honest you can't hear the lower tiers much up in tier 3 so songs are not likely to be sung by the full 3000. Last season, very few teams brought the full allocation to our place. Maybe you, Arsenal, utd, Liverpool, Everton and Southampton.

i'll also be paying more attention to your home support during live games from now on to see how its going ;-)
If you're watching on sky, they turn down the volume anyway, except for united and liverpool, where it gets turned up, so you'll have to come watch us to get a real idea.
I went to the consultation a month or so back & while away allocations maybe be reduced i dont think its by that many as far as i remember, i hope not thats for sure.
The PL rules won't allow an increase in capacity, and decrease in away fans, we've increased our away section by about 300 this season (around 12% more).

Just in reply to the chelsea lad if its a small away following ie we have bournemouth midweek in the autumn they might bring anywhere between 500 and 3000. Away clubs can be offered one tier at a time because if they take 2 or 3 tiers and dont sell out they have to pay for the empty seats. So its good really as if a club only brings a few hundred City can then re-sell the remainder to home fans.

The next stages are get ticket prices down all over and then push for safestanding sections. This would all ensure better atmospheres. All games need away fans.

Bournemouth is Saturday 17th October, I know cos I'll have to miss it as our holiday flight doesn't land back until after ko

Is there a rule where the club wont allow City fans to sit above away fans in lower tiers?
At Chelsea now a club can have 1,500, 2,500 or 3,000, likes of Swansea for example might bring 2,500 which then means the front rows of the shed upper in the away section & a bigger segregation block has loads of empty seats & stupid netting, when the question was asked why cant Chelsea fans have the remaining seats we were told its an H & S issue, pathetic eh.

Ive often wondered about certain games & the atmosphere when the game is live on Sky ive read before Sky seem to favour certain grounds like Anfailed & the Kop over other grounds & have microphones placed in front of the stand.

Didnt realise that about the % of capacity.

Very refreshing to hear opposing fans discussing things properly instead of the usual slag fest. Good on you guys.

Yeah hey changed the sale or return allocation. Now clubs can order an exact number of blocks and only pay for unsold tickets is they fail to sell 50% of the final block. It used to be 1,500 sale or return, or 3,000 pay for unsold.

I watched the match in 119 and the atmosphere was a lot louder than last year. Although it didn't necessarily seem to come from level 3 S'S if thatha makes any sense. The extra tier seemed to add a greater depth to the noise. I barely heard Chelsea at all save for 5 minutes in the second half.
Watched it back on Sky later and there was no resemblance to the actual atmosphere. In fact you can hear the techies constantly altering the volume throughout the broadcast. I have no idea why they do this!

I thought it was just me that noticed that! I thought I was going mad re-watching the Chelsea game, it didn't sound that loud on the tele afterwards but there were times were it was literally deafening at the game!

Yup up on the 3rd tier my ears were ringing with the noise, watched it back when i got home and was disappointed.
