Atmosphere tonight

Yes it was poor tonight, but how many tourists, plastics and part timers were there last night? Around were we sit there were loads of new faces don’t think the steward has ever been so busy trying to sort out people who had no clue were their seat was and talking to my mate after the game it was a similar story were he sits.
Some good points made on GMR on the way home but the best was move the away fans, why oh why do we give them a prominent position. Come on City sort it, when the expansion to the south stand is finished give the half of the 3rd tier.

Its fortunate the tourists turned up, the ground would have been half empty without them.

A shit atmosphere isn't a new thing

Too right. We've had a handful of brilliant atmosheres and the rest have been shit. Most of those games have been full or nearly full. Our fans are lazy and won't make a noise till we are 4-0 up. Sitting there like a lump is not supporting the team.

If the tourists weren't there the crowd would be less than 30,000 which for a must win CL game against decent opposition is not great whichever way you look at it.

I think this is only going to get worse too. An exit in the group stage this year which is now a big possibility will lead to more people giving it up and less tourists bothering.

Club need to do something with the prices, especially for kids and fans need to start treating this competition with more passion rather than just give up on it.

I don't think we will ever get a "Special European nights at the Etihad" comment because they simply aren't.

I think he means it goes back to maine road,we've had this for 20/30 years & thats why it doesnt bother me......

I was going to make a new thread, but ill just stick it in here. If we want a good run in the champions league, we need a great support off the field and we didn't even show up tonight. I think that's the quietest ive heard the stadium before. I was sat in South level 2 and there was nothing ! 111 and 110 were trying to do their bit but 116, 177 etc weren't even joining in ! I wont even start on level 2, I think the criteria is you have to be a mute ! was so disappointed with us fans last night, not good enough and we need to do something about it. I know people will say but the players were very good and didn't get us going, but its the otherway round, we should be getting them going, urging them on and making them fight to the end, giving them something to fight for!

I don't normally do European nights, I normally can't get off work but tonight was an exception. There are just far too many day-trippers, most who aren't even British never mind from Manchester. We were trying honest to God

That really is an absurd comment and I'm sure many including myself will take that to heart. I've been a loyal city supporter for 16 years and even chose to go to uni in manchester (in 1999) just to be close to my beloved team.

I know all the songs, and every match I can get to i sing my heart out even though it makes me look like a twat sometimes when no one else around me is singing. Fuck it I even start some of the chants to get the "locals" to join in. I spend a hell of a lot of money to come and watch city play. Don't even get me started on that..

And guess what.. I'm not British and I'm not from Manchester. Oh and one other thing.. Neither are our owners.

I think there is an underlying mentality that a) We don't believe we can win it. b) We dislike the whole charade of Eufa ,FFP etc .c) For many of us we never expected to see us win the title in our lifetime. Now domestic trophies are flowing our appetite is pretty much satisfied, so if we go out of this European farce -so what.

Spot on!

Last night was a joke. Tourists were just everywhere annoying everyone. Never known anything like it. How do people just not have a fucking clue? All they have to do is find the row and then the seat, you'd think they'd been sent on some mad task to find something hidden!

Annoying cunts!

Correct mate
Folk are obsessed though with the atmosphere, empty seats, early leavers, worried what it looks like on t.v or the ribbing their rag mates may give them, fucking sad.

Why do people keep bringing the rags into it makes me wonder who's REALLY bothered about the rags, no one mentioned the rags.

Jesus Christ if there is no atmoshpere at football you might as well stay at home on the couch , footballers get spurred on by a good atmosphere, you do know that don't you,
You think us singing a bit more last night would of changed that result?
Stop talking bollocks.
Well players current and ex both say it does give them that lift. Sometimes that could be all it needs to get the team over the line.
