Atmosphere tonight

'' i dont give a fuck about the atmosphere i just want my team to do well'' how the hell are the players gonna do well when there struggling, they need the support from us supporters right from the start!! kolarov as already come out and basically said our atmosphere is awful and i bet he isnt the only player that thinks it, but it wont change! as for tourists, we have to thank they came last night or the stadium would of been even worse!

It's a whole bunch of things isn't it. The post about it being a working class club at its roots with lots of supporters who struggle to afford 2 games a week with spiraling prices, is certainly valid.

Then you have the whole FFP, agenda, bent or shite refereeing, fixed/same draws. Most fans are pretty fucked off with all this and who can blame us.

And then you have the shit City performances, time after time. Was it Einstein who said that the very definition of stupidity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result. But look at the side we started last night. Same players, same formation, same result.

This all adds up to a load of fans who can't be arsed with the whole thing and who don't bother going.

Unbelievable that there posters on here who stayed away last night yet choose to criticise the atmosphere - get your fucking arse off the sofa and support the team.

I don't normally do European nights, I normally can't get off work but tonight was an exception. There are just far too many day-trippers, most who aren't even British never mind from Manchester. We were trying honest to God

That really is an absurd comment and I'm sure many including myself will take that to heart. I've been a loyal city supporter for 16 years and even chose to go to uni in manchester (in 1999) just to be close to my beloved team.

I know all the songs, and every match I can get to i sing my heart out even though it makes me look like a twat sometimes when no one else around me is singing. Fuck it I even start some of the chants to get the "locals" to join in. I spend a hell of a lot of money to come and watch city play. Don't even get me started on that..

And guess what.. I'm not British and I'm not from Manchester. Oh and one other thing.. Neither are our owners.

I also think people get labelled with the"day tripper" tag just because they aren't in their normal seat. I was relocated by the club yesterday so no doubt some of the people around me thought I was a "day tripper". And quite a few people that sit near me for league games arent on the cup scheme, usually buy their ticket late on and end up sitting in a different seat. The bloke who normally sits behind me has said that he enjoys sitting in different parts of the ground for cup games.

The atmosphere has been shit for many years and is only loud during the derby.

Just look at the match day forum during an away day and you'll see the type of support that we have. Lots of moaning and very little support. It's mirrored at home matches, lots of moaning and very little support.

The 1894 group are doing their best but are constantly shot down on here by the oldies complaining about not needing them in their day etc.

Imho, i think most city fans arent into the CL as much as the premiership and so this shows by the lack of attendance and the lack of noise in the ground.

What the club wanna do, is make offers for home matches at the start of the comp..ie. see all 3 home matches for £80 or something. The place would be rammed.

The working class like myself, simply cant afford to pay those prices in both the league & the cups! I know its the same everywhere but still...we're not getting any richer and the club need to realise this.

I was in 130 last night and totally surrounded by plastics, most holding this years most wanted accessory - an extention pole for their feckin iphones and minitaure cameras. Just as second half started, steward was called down to remove a few stood in the aisle taking photos of their small boy with the game as a backdrop - wtf.

Atmosphere was totally flat and credit to Roma fans who were well heared.

Well said mate!

The club couldn't give a fuck about whether loyal local fans go or not. The cost of premier league games is getting ridiculous and season tickets will continue to rise.

I used to go to a few home cup games, a few aways and have my season ticket, now I just have my season ticket but probably won't renew.

We need extra fans but not at the expense of those who were there when we were shit.

They will give a fuck when the stadium is empty for the CL, if we can only get 37K for Roma how bad will it be when we have a 60k stadium? If they can't fill it at current prices in a couple of years it's only going to cost more and even less will be going as I don't see wages increasing rapidly with them. This maybe the wake up call the club needs in terms of pricing and atmosphere, the owners won't be happy with the comments on TV and sight of empty seats.
