When I looked at the new stand, although it looked impressive I couldn't help thinking how much better the stadium as a whole would look if we filled in the corners to make it more symmetrical.

Doing so would also push the capacity toward 70,000, with space for more affordable seating giving us even more match day revenue. Build it and they will come.

The segregation is virtually non existent by the looks of some pictures I have seen. City fans were literally 6 foot away from Chelsea fans with a metal bar in between them and a few stewards. They will need to look at this for the more spicy games.
There is 2 sets of railings with the stewards in the middle of them it will be ok.

Is the segregation that different to other grounds? I remember at Maine Rd at back of the North Stand there was one concrete waist high wall between me and away fans. Usually there would be a gap of seats but not when the away fans invaded the neutral zone eg the infamous Millwall visit. That was scary

It looks very similar to Arsenal's segregation!

Just looked at the Watford website. they have taken 3000 for our game and coach travel is subsidised at £1. Should be another good atmosphere with the Watford fans a lot more excitable than Chelsea

No I think city have a lot on with 4 or 5 schemes in ancoats. Let them have a breather from the stadium for a bit. See if we fill the south stand - build up a bit of pent up demand. And go again!

All in good time.
Just a question for ITKs , how much work is left to be completed on the South stand, will the screens be installed as part of this? thanks in advance

I'm going to make a prediction:-

By the Summer of 2018, as the North Stand expansion nears completion, the Waiting List will be longer than it was this Summer for the South Stand.

I think continued success and the atmosphere generated from regular 54,000+ gates will attract a whole new set of, mainly young, supporters.
Surely they just think, 'there must be at least 300,000 city fans based in Greater Manchester alone, maybe if we reduced ticket prices even further a bigger percentage of those would commit to coming to more games'.

Absolutely spot on - set the price right and we will sell out every game. - attract the youngsters City !!

City have done well promoting the south stand extension and for £300 a season ticket (for our quality of player and football) look as though they got it spot on and the added bonus of 'more active' fans taking a large proportion of them has improved the atmosphere. Anyone know what City charge for a single ticket rather than the season card?

I would say currently less than 2000 left for Watford with 9 days still to go - a lot of people will get paid next week. I expect it to sell out.

Match day price in level 3 for Chelsea was £53 (or was it £63?) whilst for Watford it is £39 IIRC - so I suspect this represents the extreme in pricing depending on the attractiveness of the club.

in my deepest memory bank I am sure Franny Lee did a study many years back which said we had 850,000 fans within a 2 hour drive of Maine Road. Something like that.

This is nowhere near accurate enough for you mate. Your high standards are slipping!

Busy day today - I have set the trap though - I have worked out how many are left in the East Stand upper tier this morning - going to count again tonight and I can pretty much double it for the West Upper Tier and I can see how many we have sold today and when we can expect to sell out. Have got a spreadsheet going with a formula. Us QS's.

That's more like it!

How big an allocation do we have to give to Watford?

While I'm not at all worried that every City section will sell out, for this one, I can't see Watford bringing many of their supporters down here.

A great opportunity for 'sly' to gleefully stick the boot in, once again, by reporting 'It Isn't A Sell Out"

Watford have sold out their 3k allocation
