Ballotelli

I thought he did ok in the first half, got into some good positions. Not really surprising that he lacked sharpness. If he'd been subbed at half time I'd have thought was a useful work out as he stepped up his fitness.

Baffling that he stayed on for 90mins. I'm a Mancini fan but what on earth was he thinking? I've thought for a while that City fans had unrealstic expectations about how long it would take Balotelli to settle in. Its taken Silva 2 months to get used to the PL and he hasnt been injured. I just assumed that Mancini would ease him in gradually. Totally mystifying.

Normally agree with you Damo but that is utter bollocks. Balotelli isn't even in the top 10 players in the world at the moment.

Potentially he can be the best and I think with time he will but currently, no.

Fair enough Jase, I see you post on here a lot and always have respected your opinion. I'd just say that my opinion is based on what I have seen of him at Inter, and I know what this kid already is and what he will become. I don't mind if you disagree footballing wise like you do, I just get frustrated on people who watch him for 90 minutes then decide that he is shite :-)

Back to agreeing with you! You've probably seen more of him than me. He's the one that's excited me the most as the world already knew how good Silva and Yaya were. It's only really Italy that has seen what Mario is capable of. He's got the personality and certainly the talent(plus another half) to become the most feared marksman on the planet and I hope he does it here.

Watch him score Derby Day now and everyone will be echoing your comment, we're a fickle bunch!

I agree, he could have been subbed today. However 90 minutes is going to make a huge difference to his match sharpness, and education about the premier league.

You cant blame Balotelli for much, he didnt get anything to feed off in the whole game really, and considering this is his first start and 90 mins of it, much of been hard. The defence needs sorting out, too many gaps and not enough tracking.

Mario is already the third best player in the world, behind Messi and Ronaldo, and he's only 20.

You haven't seen the best of him yet, please, I beg of all City fans, just give him some time and he will show you why. Every single person who has watched him regularly says the same; he is ridiculusly good.

Please don't take his first full game in 9 months after an injury to be the benchmark. Just give him some time. He's not Dickov workrate wise, but he's is certainly a fucking Cantona talent wise. Let the lad settle, and you will be rewarded with the greatest player you have seen.

I'm not one to get carried away with players (remember Tevez's first few games?) but this kid is a class apart. Please give him a chance before we start slating him.

hitting 40 yard shots with power doesnt make u 3rd best , he lacks will to fight for the ball and seems strolling some times. His similar attitude at inter when strolling even after coming at 75 min questions his attitude.Hope he changes here.
