seems to split opinion. most around me slate the lad everytime he gets the ball, mind you they have to yaya aswell up until about 3 games ago. for me mario is one of the best players ive ever seen, can produce something from nothing, extremely versatile, creative, , size and strength and movement / positioning is world class. attitude is a worry i guess, but for me he is the real deal

That really does blow my mind.

Good thread by the way. I certain reckon his fanboys are ones who see him as a role model for every reason but his football ability.

Re: being a " character" is not enough

Aside from one excellent piece of 'tracking back' , and the shot that struck the crossbar , i was really disappointed in Balotellis efforts , or rather lack of efforts , today ...... we'd have done better playing Dzeko for ninety minutes , and i bet that , after his goal at Blackburn , he expected to play too!

Can't give a fuck?

Is this based on his general attitude and pre thought opinions or actually what he did in the game?

Good things that he did today.....

First half
1. Won a header in the WHU box but put it wide
2. His pressing of the backline resulted in him winning the ball, pass to Silva who crossed which went out for a corner. Resulted in the goal.
3. Zabas shot/cross goal Balo was at the back post waiting to put it in.

Second half
1. Unluckily hit the crossbar once fed in by Silva
2. When Silva decides to pass when he is through on the keeper Balo has it cleared off the line.
3. Milner cross across the face of goal to Balo gets a nick from Da Costa.

Going forward almost everything that was good involved Silva and Balotelli.

But I do respect that city fans have to have a boo boy and without the likes of Lee Peacock, Jon Macken or Antoine Sibierski a 20 year old kid who has an attitude is a perfect target.

Balotelli should have buried the shot that was cleared off the line, he just passed it

And thats the myth. He's done fuck all world class since we have signed him. He hasn't produced anything out of nothing. His runs and positioning are ok but just that- ok. He is not a world class player and I don't know where people are getting this from. Messi, Ronaldo, even Robinho they are players that "make something out of nothing" now compare their last 5 games to Balotelli's. Exactly.
To say that side foot finish as the ball dropped over his shoulder, past Friedel into the top corner wasn't world class is laughable. If it had been Messi or Ronaldo who'd have produced a finish of that quality, we'd still be seeing the replays.

The kid needs to sort his head/attitude out and needs to get this season out of the way. If he doesn't deliver next season, then fair do's. Even Mourinho has commented on the lad's potential.

Shady ... I suggest you look at his responses to my post before commenting.

Start from the beginning

i know where you're coming from, but you aren't doing yourself any favours by being condencending...regardless of whether it's at the start of your correspondence or the end mate

Yeh but no but. Yeh but .......

LOL. Brilliant .....

Come on give an opinion about balo .... you can do it ...........

I would but i just think it'd be wasted on you. Your OP said all i need to know about where you're coming from and i think i'd be wasting my time, seriously.

Re: being a " character" is not enough

In the interests of a Zen like balance; Balotelli is a legend, and given half the chance, I would bum him (without lube).

Yin and yang.

Whereas Silva who was initially put through bottled it.
