I was waiting for that :)
I'm more interested in stats for city tbh
You were waiting for the fact that Tevez's goal-scoring rates at other clubs affected his standing in an all-time list?

Demba Ba is higher than him on the list. Give it a rest.

Not really
I only care what he or any other of our players do for our club
And he is outstading

-- Wed Dec 19, 2012 6:59 pm --

Sits back and nods in total agreement. Wasn't it Mario who compared himself to Messi once??? Deary deary me.
He said only Messi of the GoldenBoy winners were better than him at 19. He was probably right.

I bet most of those other 19 yr olds are leaps and bounds in front of him now...

Tevez is definitely better, when he's here... It doesn't make Balotelli as hopeless as many seem to think.

-- Wed Dec 19, 2012 7:01 pm --

It's something when people can't even acknowledge that his goalscoring record with us is pretty good. Can't even hold their hands up and say "I think he's a twat, and I want him sold but to be fair he has managed a decent scoring record for us".

How bitter can you be?

I don't think there are many who could claim they're happy with his rate of progress but I think only fools write off 22 year olds. Anyway, I'm convinced he needs to move on, for his own good. City will be perfectly fine without him.

The stats are there for all to see. Do you think his goalscoring is on an upward or downward trajectory at the moment?

Agree totally with this. Mario will always divide opinion. For me he could be a genius if he really really wanted to. Don't they say that all geniuses are flawed in some way..I can see this in Mario.
Like you say,as a club we will be fine.

I think is goalscoring is one of the top 10 in premier league history. Scores in his next game and it will go down a bit, fails to score and it will increase a bit. But I don't see the point in downplaying a goal scoring record based on what you think it might end up at some stage in the future.

Come on admit it. Top 10 in premier league history isn't bad is it?

Take the penalties away and what are the stats??? Not saying that penalties aren't important or don't count but goals from open play is the stat you should be looking at.
Your faith is comendable but he won't be here beyond summer IMO.

What's there to admit, like I said the stats are there.

I'll wager he won't be in the top 10 come May.

He may not be here next summer. But as you mention penalties count on the scoreboard so when he gets one I thinks its fair to give him credit for it.

Admit it, even if you take out his penalties its pretty impressive to be ranked so high.

How does he rank in assists and % of games won when he starts for City?

Let's play a little stats game.

So not prepared to admit it eh? Come on, its not too hard and you can still hate him and want him sold at the end of it.

As for the stats, why don't you try Google.

In fact, i think guys like Anelka, Benzema or Drogba were already better than him at the same age and that he will never reach their level ( let's not even mention Et'oo, Raul, C. Ronaldo, Henry, Ibrahimovic, Inzaghi, Trezeguet ).

Drogba had 7 goals from 32 appearances at Le Mans when he was 22.
Henry had 20 from 105 for Monaco
Anelka had 34 from 121 for PSG, Arsenal, Real Madrid and PSG
Benzema had 43 from 112 for Lyon
Ronaldo had 38 goals from 154 for Sporting and the rags

Only Anelka, Ronaldo and Benzema had managed a season with more than 10 goals in it.

that list could be endless

just to add a couple

ibrahimovic and -everyone dream- falcao

both were wankers when they were 22 , scoring a dozeen goals in the mighty argentinian and holland leagues

Why do you take the penalties out. Is there anyone in that top ten who didn't take penalties?

I noticed no-one complained about the penalties Tevez scored fir his minutes per goal ratio.

i reckon you must really hate someone right in the pit if your guts to be incapable of giving even a tiny bit of credit when its due.

You said he had been average while he was here

And?

There's more to football than a goals per minute ratio. But I'll certainly give him credit on that where its due.

penalties are not important. at least since you dont go out from champion league like real madrid and barca last season when messi and Ronaldo waste a penalty
