Banning smoking in beer gardens

Beer gardens are only in use about 4 times a year in the U.K. aren’t they? I’m sure it won’t be as big an issue as being made out if it eventually comes to pass.
 
People saying it will finish pubs… I venture in to Liverpool on occasional weekends and most places are rammed. I imagine Manchester is no different. High street places rarely have gardens.

Locals have been suffering for years. I spent £3.50 on two big bottles of lager for yesterday and watched at home as opposed to in the pub where I can’t get one pint for that. I’m watching the Old Firm now.
 
Despise smoking. Helped kill both my parents and we all now know how nasty it is.

It ruins the enjoyment of others who might also want to enjoy the beer garden on a nice day.

While some might see it as non-smokers being selfish, it is smokers who are oblivious to just how selfish THEIR actions are on others!

Smoking is a self-indulgent addiction that not only harms the user, but also anyone who can smell it.

If smoking created a bad fart smell, people would say it’s objectionable and shouldn’t be done near a food & drink establishment. For non-smokers, the smoke they smell can be worse than the fart.

Smoking has zero redeeming features. ZERO. And, the sooner it is banned in public, the better. We even stayed in a vacation condo next to smokers and it RUINED our enjoyment of the outdoor patio space and made us have to keep our doors and windows closed.

Smokers fucking suck!

Missus smokes, smoking killed her mum a horrible drawn out death wish they would just stop selling them
 
I just about get banning smoking inside pubs as it did stink. But who on earth goes to the pub and believes it will be beneficial for their health? Its not a gym fgs. Its pushing it a bit for anyone to choose, of their own free will, to travel to an establishment that has historically been known to exist purely to provide a service of putting a drug into your system, to then complain 'oh my god, if i stand outside this place it affects my health i must therefore complain'.
The argument you have at that stage is effectively that pubs should only exist for the exact reasons 'you' want them to and not for what they have historically been known to offer. Im an ex smoker but i wouldnt dream of whinging that somebody standing outside having a cigarette should be banned. Smoking currently isnt illegal, until then people should be able to do it as they wish outdoors otherwise we are seriously interfering with their free will. The same free will you (the hypothetical complainer) has when you choose whether to go to the pub or not.

I once kissed a girl who must have had a cig without me seeing it and it was disgusting!

I even told me wife to be that if ever wanted to be a smoker, it would be over!! It gave her the chance to become one if she didn’t want to stay married to me!! ;-) Thankfully, she’s asleep next to me after 40 years together after nary a cig between the two of us.

Here is a picture of the nicotine stain from an old aircraft, back when you could smoke. This is the Outflow Valve. That valve is how pressurization is maintained as conditioned air is pumped into the cabin. It’s like the slow leak in a balloon when you are blowing it up.

THAT sticky shit goes everywhere from smokers, but concentrating it through an outflow valve highlights just how nasty smoking is!
