Baseless speculation Iheanacho/Bony

Shop window theory:

I can understand him making promises to Willy for the Cup comps given their history together and the fact he has to spend 9/10ths of the season sat on the bench. I doubt that he has made promises like that to Bony or other players. I've noticed that he hasn't been asked about his ignoring of Kelechi in any of his press conferences. Probably because the press know he'd just deflect the question by making everyone fall asleep like he usually does.
I think Bony must have had some sort of assurance that he would have been given a certain amount of game time before signing. I can't think of any other reason why he plays ahead of Kelechi.

If this is true then MP should be fired along with anybody else who made such a promise. City can't continue to field weakened sides because of some stupid promise, playing time needs to be awarded based on what's best for the team.

The reason is because Bony cost more. Selection by price tag.

That must be why he's picking £7m Clichy over £20m Kolarov, and £6m Willy over £100k Hart, and why £6m Kompany can never get a start, or free Sagna.

I literally can't think of any other reason for it.

It's much more likely to be this -

Pellegrini would have identified Bony as a target and asked Txiki to go get him. He obviously liked him before he even arrived and thought he'd fit the team. Now he's trying to make it work, to justify why he bought him in the first place and also because Bony was not a shit player, but he's clearly lost all form and confidence - any decent manager would try to get their player out of a slump, it's why successive Chelsea managers tried and tried with Torres.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Bony was much better in training and was just shitting the bed in games when the pressure of his awful City career is on him. You can see every time he comes on, he's got a monkey on his back, and every poor touch or sliced shot just weighs him down even more.

He's got a better slice than Pete Sampras.

And more slices than Domino's
