Bayern post match thread

We were obviously unlucky tonight. The penalty decision cost us but we were never going to get that anyway. Can't rely on reffing decisions, we've got to create chances and score goals.

Once fernando is back though, shielding the defence and allowing dinho and yaya to push on, we should look more assured on the ball and control the midfield better. This is what we need against sides like bayern. We missed it tonight.

Mangala/kompany partnership is yet to blossom too.
Jovetic has looked good so far so he'll give us a good option when he's back.
No zaba tonight either.

Bayern away is always going to be tough but, apart from some big players going missing in the second half, I though we played well defensively and looked good for the point. And bar that flukey goal we'd have had a pretty successful night imo.

We're only going to get better. I still think we can top the group.

Man I'm sooo pissed that every year we keep stuttering in the Champions League. It's like every year it's our first year in the competition. When are we going to bring our Premier league dominance into the Champions League ?

We let them play there game, we just don't have the players to press and be on the front front, Dzeko, Toure,Nasri, Navas and Silva don't like defending and you need battlers to win at places like Munich so I'm afraid it's back to the drawing board. This season reminds me so much of when we won the premier league the first time, not sure if these players have the fight to go again.

Did you watch the same game as I did? We'll be lucky to beat Roma playing like that. They were not just slightly better than us, they were on a different planet. We are not even close to that level yet. Once in a "Bluemoon" yes, but these buggers are consistently good because they have players who are consistently good.
We haven't.

Best team won. If City had played a match like that and ended up 0-0 after all the missed chances with only the goalkeeper keeping it level, you know you'd have been upset. It would have been better if Bayern had scored early, that would have made City come out and chase the game.

When we have the self belief to believe that we can beat Europe's best. I'm feeling this competition is on a repeat loop every season, predictable fucking group draw, predictable performances and predictable results. Remind me why I find it a dull and boring competition and give me the League Cup game next week all day long.

Groundhog Day for me.

Amen. Every European performance is like Groundhog Day. Even the groups are almost the same every year.

My point was we're yet to see the best of this team. We didn't play well tonight but there are still five game left in the groups and once we get into our stride, and we have the likes of fernando back, we should see a different city (hopefully!)

I thought we were decent in bursts, which isn't bad considering the game passed Nasri and Yaya by. Sagna and Clichy didn't have great nights either, but I thought if we'd changed to 4-4-1-1 with Milner on right and Kolorov on the left we could've competed better. And maybe there-in lies the problem, inability to adapt our formation during the game, Munich started with 3 at the back but changed in the first half. Still, the result isn't a disaster. Beat CSKA home and away and Roma at home and a point from 1of the other 2 games and we 'should' go through ok.

(Lets hope Big Yaya was saving it for Chelsea on Sunday)

CTID

Don't worry, mate. Already saving my legs. I promise that the most pertinent thought in my mind between now and Sunday will be 'procrastination'.

As for Yaya Toure, we have to hope he was just saving his legs because he was garbage tonight. I got up for a piss at half-time, so I think i did more running than him. Up the stairs as well!

Pellers should start Ferna and Jimmy against Chelsea! Proper workhorses the pair of them. Anyone Know when Fernando will be fit?
