We were obviously unlucky tonight. The penalty decision cost us but we were never going to get that anyway. Can't rely on reffing decisions, we've got to create chances and score goals.

Once fernando is back though, shielding the defence and allowing dinho and yaya to push on, we should look more assured on the ball and control the midfield better. This is what we need against sides like bayern. We missed it tonight.

Mangala/kompany partnership is yet to blossom too.
Jovetic has looked good so far so he'll give us a good option when he's back.
No zaba tonight either.

Bayern away is always going to be tough but, apart from some big players going missing in the second half, I though we played well defensively and looked good for the point. And bar that flukey goal we'd have had a pretty successful night imo.

We're only going to get better. I still think we can top the group.

Did you watch the same game as I did? We'll be lucky to beat Roma playing like that. They were not just slightly better than us, they were on a different planet. We are not even close to that level yet. Once in a "Bluemoon" yes, but these buggers are consistently good because they have players who are consistently good.
We haven't.

My point was we're yet to see the best of this team. We didn't play well tonight but there are still five game left in the groups and once we get into our stride, and we have the likes of fernando back, we should see a different city (hopefully!)

We showed no progress tonight in terms of champions league nous. All I wanted was us to do is fight toe to toe with them but we were so inept and defensively all over the place. Bayern could've won 5-6 nil and it wouldn't have been an unjust.

Haven't read the posts..

We got dominated, a draw would have been an amazing result, shame to concede at the end, also think Kun uses his left foot and that ball goes in

Gotta beat our other teams

I wouldn't say we were that bad tonight. They had the better of the chances but any more than 1-0 wouldn't have merited our defensive performance.

I think you're underestimating us, like so many others. We do need to get going soon though!

Sometimes you've just got to hold your hands up and admit we're just not good enough.
Thank god Bayern had players missing or we would have been hammered.

Frustrates me how after all the talk and hype we havent learnt anything from last year or the years before. What is with us and Europe? Much, much smaller teams have gone a lot further.

What do you think that Bayern team was today?

An Alonso who plays his third match for Bayern, it was Benatias first. It was Rafinha's first match after a 5 weeks injury - he just made his first team training Monday. A lot of the players did not have a proper preparation because of coming late from the World Cup with a couple of new players that still need to adapt - and the others to adapt to them. You really saw how some ran out of steam in the second half.

You might see a different City later on - but it is not that the other teams might not improve later in the season, too. I expect Bayern to do.

I think that Roma will be a heavy task - Italian teams always are. So I am not sure which of the three teams - I think that Moscow is set to be fourth - will make it. It is still open even if I am pretty glad that we made the 3 points today. Actually I did not expect it after the last weeks because the team had problems to get chances lately.

I think that all English teams - if they do not sit back and just wait on counters - have problems in Europe because of a different tactical approach of the EPL to the other leagues. English teams, when they loose the ball, try to get back into positions very early - you seldom see the kind of pressing or counter pressing in groups the way it is done in other European leagues. That is maybe why Chelsea has less problems with their tactics than Arsenal or you have it. That is at least my theory.

Just back from the game and I hear Yaya was all smiles and laughs with Pep afterwards tonight? A fucking disgrace if true, if he doesn't want in then fuck him off asap.
We seemed fearful tonight which is so disappointing because we obviously still haven't learned how to approach these CL games. The penalty claim (stonewall from where I was) is out only straw to clutch at, other than that it could have been 4 or 5 for Bayern. Desperately need a win against Roma now, this'll go down to the wire

I thought Hart, Vinny, MDM and Fernindinho were excellent. Silva had a decent game too and shoulda had a penalty!

CTID

Maybe so, but Bayern were 5 goals better than us without most of their best players. That should be the lesson out of this. We were shit.

Talk about spitting your dummy out.. FFS .. We had our share of players missing to if you want to go down that line..
Zabba fernando Sergio .. !!!!
We weren't shit at all... Like us Bayern couldn't put a shit side out if they tried.. Ribery & robben were the star players out.. 1 came on and changed the game, before he came on city look to have things pretty much under control..
Hart was the busier of the 2 keepers..... Away at Bayern Munich ....SHOCK..!!!
put your dummy back in, we almost pulled off a great result last night at the home of 1 of the best teams in Europe..
