They absolutely shouldn’t have to pay the basic salary.I am suggesting City will probably have to pay up his basic salary but the argument will be over things in the contract like bonuses etc etc. We have no idea what's in his contract so we can't predict the outcome at this point.
If I was in the same position as him in an ordinary job (I would expect to lose said job) I would not expect to be entitled to be paid if I could not turn up. I would also not expect any performance bonus, Christmas bonus. Doesn’t matter what it says in a contract that’s common bloody sense.
