I don’t think Rice fits the system at all he’s a potentially nowhere near as good (in the way we play) version of Rodri, but certainly not Bernardo as others have said Bellingham is the one I’d say that’s really capable of progressing to be better but he’s again going to be ~£100m and also not leaving until next year, also have a horrible feeling the dippers have got their hooks in to him.

Paqueta or Nunes would do a job but again not quite the same style wise.

Neither player you mentioned is good enough for city and would be a massive downgrade on Bernardo which is why the club won’t move for them or anybody else until we find the perfect player which will likely be summer 2023.

All of those names other than Valverde and De Jong are nowhere near good enough. Valverde would be impossible and the club clearly hold no interest in De Jong.

He scored a very good goal last season, but got absolutely dominated in midfield against Bayern. Hasn’t really shown he can control/ dictate a midfield In any of Dortmunds games. Also has a really fiery temper that gets him in trouble

I suppose the posters who think Silva can be swapped with any old player are just happy that City are doing transfer business but dont really care who leaves or comes in. Make no mistake. Bernardo will be extremely hard to replace. It's not by chance he fits in well at City. A lot of hard work & research went into getting him. I rate him as highly as Kdb, Dias, Rodri, Foden & Haaland. It will be a huge blunder allowing him to leave underpriced.
