So much for our overrated sqad depth.
Sure, we have the best starting XI in the PL , but some of our second strings are real liabilities.

Nastasic / Lescot : they struggle to string two good performances in a row, their passing is always hit or miss.
Garcia : average at best, with the problem of not being able to run properly, thus being useless as a midfielder, he should quit football and start playing basketball
Milner: always blows cold or hot performances. Yes, he is a workhorse that gives each and every time 110%.
Yet, his ability to pass, shoot, take on players or to cross seems to always resort to pure luck.

Right full backs : we have no valid options. Boyata would battle to gain a spot in a championship side.
Richards is injury prone, that's why we bought an old Maicon.

Clichy : a waste of space in attack.
Someone should make a stat of the number of goals he has been involved in this season so far
and compare to Zab's contribution.

A idiot could understand that we need to bring on at least a defensive midfielder and a cover for Zab this month, no question asqued.
This is mandatory if we want to have a chance of finishing first come May.

Just goes to show how important having TWO overlapping fullbacks are to our game plans.
Boyatta is useless as an attacking fullback - and not much better as a defender.

Like lost managers and players the domestic cup games are only taken seriously from the quarters on so games like today are not much of a surprise, if certain players can't be trusted in games like this you do wonder what the point of them is

Poor tactics and lazy team selection, manager clearly thinks these second string players are a shoe in for first teamers when we all know that isn't the case.

Two man midfield again over run.....will this manager ever learn?

Quite obvious we should have played a full strength side and then subbed in lesser players.

Boyata turned inside out all afternoon, warned by ref, concedes a yellow card, still no change, turned inside out a few more times, still no change, second yellow card, down to ten.......put zabba on for last 5 mins....fucking genius.

TBH I thought the team selection was ok. Zabba should have come on at 60 mins to replace the risk that Boyata was and to give pace and width on the right (thus dragging Blackburn back). Yaya added nothing. Withdrawal of Negredo said to be a mistake (intention was to bring Dzeko off - said TV).

I thought most of the players showed a lack of tempo and intensity today. Another expression of MP's view that you have a plan for the game and stick with it ?

Team selection was betwixt and between for me.....not strong enough to blow them away, not weak enough to say 'we are resting players and blooding youth'. He should have done one or the other but instead we were left with this 'compromise 11'.

Agree with your other points.

Yaya sub was pointless because he also took fern off; should have taken a striker off, brought Yaya on in an advanced role to link up play which was missing today.
