Zabaleta in the end had to come on but with Richards out we have to be very careful with playing him, Clichy on the other hand is starting to become a weak link in my opinion, he is pretty decent defensively albeit he has had some dodgy moments this season, but Kolarov for me is starting to become our first choice left back.
For the system Pellegrini plays he just fits team better.

Well played Blackburn, they didn't give up, and probably should have won the game.
I didn't think we were too bad, a couple were well off their game, Silva, Negredo and Clichy again.
Fernandhino wasn't at his best, I see some are moaning about the substitution, but it would have been planned that Fernandhino would play 1 hour, and Yaya the rest, good rotation for me, gives them both a bit of rest, I'm sure MP had hoped to have the game in the bag though and could have done it differently but it wasn't so.
Terrible defending for the goal, by Lescott and Negredo who was marking the scorer and just let him go while he watched the ball, and then a bad mistake from the keeper, who I guess saw it late, and otherwise had a good afternoon.
Dzeko worked hard, Garcia did OK as the stand in DM in this formation, Milner worked hard too, but wasn't at his best, Lescott (other than the goal) did OK in a position he struggles with, and Nastasic did OK.
Boyata, well he has a thread all of his own, and I've put my thoughts there, I don't think he'll make many more appearances after today.
The other subs today were quite obvious to me, so won't fault them, one was caused by a foul, that was idiotic in the circumstances.

Agreed, just a poor performance from everyone and inexperience on Boyata's part. No-one mentioned as well they were a bloody Stoke team, pissed me off every time they had that bloke chucking the ball into the box from 40 yards... And people pay to watch that every week??? We will do them another one at home.

Beggars belief that Dzeko should have been subded but they got the wrong number in the machine and Negredo come off instead. Typical city. (Wouldn't have made much difference anyway)

You missed Barcelona in there too, it's going to be very difficult to stay in all competitions and keep going in the league too and on todays performance it shows that elements of the second squad just aren't good enough. IF we are going to stay well in all competitions, we definitely need a right back.
