I have been taking aterovastatin for many years to reduce my cholesterol but am mindful that keeping the triglycerides (fats in blood other than cholesterol) under control is just as important.
Luckily my diet seems to be important for triglycerides but I now need just 10 MG of aterovastatin per day for it to work. If I leave it out totally within 2 months LCD has increased to dangerous risk area.
Balancing risk is important ie medicines can be dangerous in higher than prescribed doses so I get blood checks every 6 months to see how my body has changed because it does.
Minimum doses to get desired effect I am told.
