It won't fix the general atmosphere problem but would love to have one section singing Yaya-Yaya-... then going into silence while the other sings Kolo-Kolo-.... and then back again

there would be a fight between two sections who would be the one singing yaya, lol
I was disappointed not to hear this at all on Wednesday night

Being in Australia it's difficult to comment although I think there are some general observations to be made.

My 18 year old son and I came over in Feb this year and watched the Fulham game in the snow. We also went to the Villa away game. We then went to Leverkusen to watch them play Barca in the Champions League, and then Barca at home against Valencia in La Liga.

By far the most fantastic atmosphere was at Leverkusen. In one corner of the ground they had a drummer who led the chorus. I don't think he actually watched the game! Even when Barca scored the crescendo got louder. But the most interesting part for me was that the entire crowd were involved at times. The drummer would start a chant of 'Leverkusen' and this would spread around the entire ground. Everyone would stand and start chanting. It was as if it was pre-rehearsed.

So the starting point for me is a drummer and a megaphone! I can't see any reason why if the drummer starts a chant of, for example, 'come on City', that this cant then be taken up around the ground so everyone feels involved. At Leverkusen it led to a very special atmosphere.

My second comment is about the demographics of the drumming group. The fanatics leading the singing jumping etc are usually young guys in their late teens and twenties. They are the ones that need to lead. City needs to make it cool to be part of a City army.

My only other comment is about flags and banners. They need to be seen in abundance! There is not enough of that at City games and it also gets kids involved.

Cheers.

not expecting an amazing atmosphere today but you never know as we've been talking about it, it is on everyone's minds, having said that ...and with a bit of help from the club there are some good things coming through that with help from the club could be implemented from ajax onwards

will obviously need to show the mails to people at the club first but at the end can/will paraphrase things to show what ideas were coming through, these are ideas for the club to consider, they shouldn't be viewed as a list of demands however there are 1 or 2 things that a lot of fans all agree on and some other ideas (ie a drum?) that personally i have never been keen on...however...there is a good amount of support for this, so please mail after the game with any more ideas/ frustrations

Like Iv said before and like the above statement proves. We need a drummer!! A drummer just gives the place an atmos even when people ent singing along with it. It patches over the silent parts of the games. Those that dont like should bugger off into the family stand to be fair. We're trying to create an atmos at our games. If you dont like that you should relocate. Im pissed off with the folded arms brigade ruining our match day experiances and dare I say even costing us results!! I dont care what anyones says, the fans can make the difference between a win or defeat.

As for ideas on new songs. How about scanning through Youtube, listen to some of the good catchy chants on there and try and do a City 'remix'. Be good to put our swing on some good chants that are already outthere.

Be worth looking at sides from;

I always think our atmos will improve after chats on here but at the end of the day we're talkin about a few dozen people spread around the ground of 47,000. It'll take time but this will hopefully grow and grow. We just need to keep at it. Massive respect for the guy that stood up and got this goin.

What a load of bollocks.
Some dick banging a drum for 90 minutes will piss a hell of a lot more of the crowd off than the few who want one. It's an invasive din that cannot be ignored or gottten away from. Why should the vast majority have to endure it?

I applaud people doing their utmost to improve the atmosphere but if I see a drum then the owner may well receive a prostrate exam with his sticks.

just a quick point on the palace fans - not got a clue about the history of crystal palace's fan groups however they were getting 14,000 in a 30,000 capacity stadium, easier to pander to fans ie give them a block, give them resources becaue you could sit where you want and start something

we had 47k going regularly 10 years ago, 5 years ago and now, we had 1 big move which was the north stand a couple of years ago

so it's not so simple to just move people to a certain block and let them go ballistic because they are full of season ticket holders anyway. it could possibly be done for a league cup game where there's only 30k there

i think you will find an even bigger support against a drum!!
