Boateng to Bayern

Boateng will be a Bayern player next season. It would be extremely idiotic of him to come out and say what he has said without knowing that a deal was likely. I think City are trying to negotiate something with Bayern ( a swap of some description) which is why this seems to be dragging on. We've previously shown interest in Derflinger and i would expect that to be whats going on. There were rumours about Robben being unhappy and Schweinsteiger has also been linked away. It would be wise for city to see just how much Bayern want Boateng...

Boateng deal possibly off.... <a class="postlink" href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13783530.stm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13783530.stm</a>

We cant agree a fee.
In two minds here...
1) Sell him at what Bayern want just so we don't have a player who clearly doesn't want to be here.

2) Keep him and just hope he changes his mind about City.

If they don't pay, we should keep him - unhappy or not. It is about time we made a stand and stopped getting ripped off. We could even loan him to one of Bayern's rivals if he refuses to play and get a loan fee.

If they want to pay us what we paid, fine. A euro less, and they can fuck themselves.

Tell Jerome that his "new club" should stop being cheap fucks.

Bayern just paid 25M for Neuer who is 25 and was in the last year of his contract. Bayern are have tons of cash and we should be looking for 20M for him. We have not seen the best of Boateng but lets not sell him on the cheap.

Well, tbf Neuer is one of the best players in he world in his position. That is just not the case with Jerome. (He's not even a starter in the German NT). Plus, it was (aparently) 18 million, plus some million (amounting to a total of 25) if Bayern win the league and/or the CL.

Also, I don't think there's a way Bayern would pay 20m. Bayern tend not to overpay and they have already bought several players this window, and might be willing to buy one or two more.
So City should just sell Boateng for cheap to please Bayern then?

Of course not ;). But if City are willing to sell him then they'll have to lower the fee. Bayern probably won't pay more than 15m, which is more than what City paid, so it seems very reasonable to me.

He came with a big reputation and failed to live up to it. He may very well go on to be a huge success elsewhere and develop into a world class player. We certainly bought him thinking he had that potential.
My memories of him so far as a City player are of someone who is utterly spineless.
A weak man with no fire in his belly who sulked his way through an injury hit season when he should have been fighting to regain his place.
The sooner he fucks off the better. That said I think we should play hard ball with Bayern and get rid of this reputation of being everybody's woman in the transfer market.

I hope he stays. Mancini rates him and has said that he thinks Boateng will be a top defender in years to come. I rate him and see him as a deadly partner for Kompany. He has probably had the worst season out of all our players. He joins a new league that is more physical and faster. He gets injured twice and is played out of position when he does get game time which was very little. He needs game time in CB. He is better than Cahill.
