Booing our heroes

I heard people boo Dzeko yesterday, I also heard people shouting he is a lazy fucker, he is shit, get him off and loads more similar shit. There were at least 2 occasions when whole sections of the crowd made their negative feelings towards Edin clear at the same time. Our support yesterday was as quiet as I can remember, and the main noise was negative, appalling. If anyone who reads this forum and its continued abuse of Edin Dzeko really think that some of those same negative sentiments don't manifest themselves at the matches then they are seriously deluded

You heard actual boos? As in people cupping their hands and booing?

I don't think so.

You heard groans, moaning and swearing on cue at every error by thousands of people.

Dzeko and Garcia got stick yesterday, but they weren't booed.

I agree though, the negativity gives a poor impression of our support especially when the atmosphere is poor as it was yesterday. I don't like it.

But like I said, you have to make a distinction between getting booed and getting stick, it's an important one to make.

Stop telling me what I heard and what I didn't hear. I sense a certain arrogance in your posts, but frankly you must have not only the best seat in the house but also bionic fucking hearing, if you can hear every noise in the whole stadium. I was sat in EL2, a bit left of centre as you face the pitch, and on 2 occasions yesterday , LIKE I SAID, I hear people BOO Edin Dzeko, probably 3 or 4 people each time, but next time I will get their fucking names and seat numbers for you, is that ok now? FFS

I am in the same area of the ground and I heard booing too. Surprise, surprise "these fans" got to their feet when Dzeko scored.

The only time I would ever contemplate booing one of our own players is if they went out of their way to make a mockery of the club, abused/insulted the fans (unless they got unfair abuse like Kolarov - give what you get etc.).

Basically someone who didn't give a shit about the club or the fans and was detrimental to the club and the image of the club.

Paying money to watch the team doesn't give you the right to boo if they are struggling - and thats not always down to effort - anyone who's played the game themselves will know many factors can make the team struggle: general atmosphere, or sometimes the team just not clicking on that day for whatever reason you can't put your finger on.

Paying money for anything is somewhat of a gamble - if you don't accept this you might as well stay at home and watch it on TV or stream it.

And I quite liked Aleks for giving the finger to the section of the South Stand that booed him at the end of last season.

As did I. Was very amusing and the reaction was almost Arsenal/Adebayor-gifworthy.

Hey that's an idea! Has anybody got that?I spent many a happy hour on that gif that was in the Arsenal opposition view thread. I cried with laughter. I mean that. My ribs were hurting. Anybody who isn't getting on with the wife, or having a bad day at work should go and take that tonic immediately.

Gets me every time.

Do you love the club?

Do you think it inspires Dzeko and Garcia?

What do you hope to achieve? It's well documented that players feed off the crowd support, get behind the team or get yourself down to the swamp, you aren't wanted.

Booing the team as the game is being played is not on, but if you have paid good money to see top class players, and in your opinion they have been very poor, then yes it OK to boo them off the field, some fans would have taken their kids with them, and if you have spent up to or over £100 you have the right to boo.

Take it you boo Rooney and Welbeck then, when they don't perform

-- 29 Dec 2013 13:30 --

Top post - we are supporters and fans - the money we pay is not the issue

Thinking about, the title of this thread is just a tad comical. Our brave lads going over the top at the Somme, sort of.

LOL thought the same.

I am very sorry and must apologise. Although I didn't boo I fear I did let out an audible groan when our brave hero Edin failed to make a run, chase a ball down and when his leperesque touch broke down yet another chance. I should be able to rise above it and count all our other blessings. It was a moment of weakness and I hope you can forgive me. I did of course make up for it when he scored and I hope he heard me say sorry above the gunfire and shrapnel.

Thought Garcia was ok though.

True, but hey it's got people talking, which is nice especially at Christmas time.

What's for tea?
