Sorry but thats not true.For instance i clear 2200 a month.
On betfair i can and do make money on backing and laying for large amounts for instance i put 1300 on City to win 950 on Sunday.I clear my account at the end of each day.
Im 8000 up on football this year which is all i use betfair for. If i had to prove via earnings i would not be allowed to put on more than about a fiver.People who can control it should not be punished for weak minded people.I bet on horses and golf for an interest have some big wins but lose more often than not.
When we were paying a mortgage and bringing up kids could not bet at the level i do now and never did as that would be irresponsible.
As a previous poster said lets ban drinking,smoking,drugs ,sex etc.
They let the boys in the city gamble peoples money daily without a care in the world.

Problem gambling is a epidemic at present.

That’s not really what this is about though mate. The rules are absolutely skewed basically allowing bookies to rob people of their winnings using lots of loop holes. They’re targeting winning punters with these checks and linking bank accounts between themselves to do so. There should be an independent regulator that has proper control of this not the bent bookies.

They barely get held to account for what they’re doing. It’s like leaving foxes in charge of the the henhouse.

You’re wrong. They use that to link bank accounts and stop winning punters. Ok not being able to bet online(which will obviously never get banned) will help some in the very small minority who have gambling addictions. Do you really think people with serious problems who want a bet won’t still bet just in shops instead? Trust me they won’t be banning people in shops who keep losing.

It’s like making drugs illegal. Worked a treat that one hasn’t it to stop people developing drug problems in this country and beyond. A decent regulator that’s actually independent from bookies could help. Instead the bookies are left in control. It’s corrupt,a breach of people’s liberties and frankly absurd.

In Spain affordability checks are normal. 3 month bank statements are required for say anything involving regular finance payments.

At my advanced age even though my bank statements were made available a normal Ford dealer 3 year deal was not available to me.
Can't blame them I suppose but thats one of the penalties of getting old.

Surely if I have my own money, I should be able to spend it where and how I want, whether that be on a drink, food, new car or a bet on the horses.

I think he means he is clearing it from gambling, which of course is tax free for the last generation.

If you build up funds from gambling wins it isn't really your wage anyway. A lot of people would just pack in if they regularly ran at a deficit, there is absolutely no interest in that bar lottery types.

Its not banned? I am confused, If people have the money they can gamble.
